Fishing is good throughout the year. Our skippers have over 15 years of experience and know the best fishing grounds depending on the season you come. The catch will depend on the type of fishing practiced and your ability to catch. The types of fish include Wahoo, barracuda, sail-fish, yellow-fin tuna, dogtooth tuna, red snappers, groupers, giant trevally’s, jacks, marlin, runners rainbow, bone fish, trevally etc.
The boat has accommodated clients from Europe, Asia and US for big game fishing (trolling & casting safaris). As pioneers we have started to develop and promote fly-fishing as well.
Bolero provides rod holders, tail gaff (tailer) and out riggers.
It is recommended that the anglers bring in own rods, reels, tackle & lures, suntan lotion or cream, sunglasses, light rain coat / wind breakers etc. Fishing times are generally from 06:00 hrs to 17:00 hrs (depends on weather conditions and safe anchoring harbor). Generally boat anchors for lunch.
Bolero has live-aboard (rooms and bathrooms, kitchen, dining area) facilities and can accommodate 14 guests. There are 5 crewmembers consisting of a skipper, chef and assistants. There is a sundeck on boat for sun tanning. Indoor board games, Sony panel with home theater system is available for entertainment. Karaoke facilities are available with microphone and VCDs. You can bring your own Ipod or Pen Drive or CDs. Please refer to boat’s description for more details.
Generally the cruise starts from HulhuMale’(newly developed island next to the airport)and ends at HulhuMale’. The clients transfer between the airport and boat will be arranged by a Dhoni. Speed boat transfers are also available on request. Transfer time by Dhoni to HulhuMale’ is approximately 25 minutes and by speed boat approximately 10 minutes.
There is no fixed itinerary and depending on the season, duration of charter and type of fishing required, we customize the itinerary to suit you. We are here to serve you.
