Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Bucharest
Bucharest tour (everything in a walking distance in the city center). Our first stop is the Parliament Palace (1984 – 1989), the most impressive administrative construction in Europe and the 2nd largest building in the world, after the Pentagon in Washington. Historic Bucharest grew up around the Old Court, first built on this site in the second part of the 15th century by Vlad the Impaler (Dracula). Lunch at one of the most famous restaurants in the old center area. We will continue our tour with: Manuc's Inn, an important historical and architectural monument in the Capital; the Patriarchal Cathedral which has been the centerpiece of the Romanian Orthodox life since the 17th Century. Transfer to your hotel.
Day 2: Bucharest - Cotroceni Palace
After breakfast we'll start our tour with the Cotroceni Palace (the Romanian presidency), also a very interesting museum. Doamnei Church was built in 1683 by orders of Princess Maria. The Romanian Athenaeum is the second most famous building in Romania. Nowadays it hosts the George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra. Kretulescu Church is one of Bucharest's best known historic churches. Revolution Square is the place where the Romanian Revolution started in December 1989. In the University Square ten stone crosses on the traffic island pay homage to those who were killed during the revolution. After lunch, we will visit the Open Air Village Museum or Romanian Peasant Museum (if it rains). Here you'll find exhibitions covering all aspects of Romanian peasant life. Return to your hotel.
Day 3: Sinaia
Car transfer to Sinaia, where we'll visit Sinaia Monastery and Peles Castle – the royal residence during the monarchy reign in Romania. Lunch in Sinaia. Transfer to Bran, passing through Predeal, the highest town in Romania. Visit Bran Castle, also known as Dracula's Castle. Built between 1377 – 1382 on a 60 meters high rock, it hosts a museum of medieval art (weapons and furniture, hunting trophies). We then leave for Brasov, the main touristic city in our country. Here we'll visit the Black Church, the largest construction in Gothic style in Eastern Europe, the Town Hall (15th Century) hosting now Brasov's History Museum, the Rope Street, the Black Tower, and the White Tower.
