We will visit a Baroque castle, where the wellknown Austro-Hungarian Royal couple: Queen Elisabeth and Francis Joseph spent their holidays.
Day 1: Your hotel is near the centre, at the Danube, on Buda side. You will meet your guide at the reception, have a welcome drink, information about the tour, and dinner in the hotel.
We drive through Budapest, along the beautiful Andrássy Avenue, and after getting to the River Tisza we can have a look at the castle of the Andrássy family as well. The marvellous English-Gothic building is surrounded by ancient trees of a nice park. We cycle in a nice area near the Tisza, and we end up at the famous Tokaj Wine-Region. Making wine is a great tradition here since the middle-ages. We have a gourmet dinner with quite special wines, such as the unique „Aszu”, the noblest sweetwine of the world, in a very nice castle hotel where we stay.
We cycle along the Tisza and wonderful forests with a lot of birds, and picturesque landscapes of this untouched area. We have a lunch at a small Fishermen’s-Csárda at the river. After this nice rest we ride on to Lake Tisza. We stay 3 nights here in a beautiful Spa-Hotel with a nice view of the lake, and lovely swimming pools.
We ride around Lake Tisza, a wonderful water-land and holiday resort, where people can enjoy watching birds, fishing, canoeing, as well as swimming, windsurfing, and other watersports. It belongs to the Hortobágy National Park, and the World Heritage. We will stop at a lovely little beach to swim, ride back to our hotel, and enjoy the local specialities in a small Csárda.
We get on little boats to enjoy the peerless atmosphere of the lake. We will see plenty of Water-Lilies, and Floating Hearts, and we can watch a lot of nice birds. We will get a deep insight into the extremely rich flora and fauna of the area, and then tasting the delicious Hungarian Fish Soup. After some rest, we go to the Hortobágy Puszta, the largest continuous steppe of Europe. We will take a horse-carriage drive with a spectacular horse show, where we will see the ancient Hungarian domestic animals as they live out in the nature. Then in an old Inn we will taste our famous Goulash.
We get to Gödöllö, where we will have a guided tour in one of the largest Baroque palaces of Hungary. We will visit the Royal suites of Queen Elisabeth and Francis Joseph, and a very interesting exhibition about their life. Then you can have some rest in our hotel in Budapest before we have our farewell dinner.
Day 7: After enjoying breakfast in the nice atmosphere of your hotel, we hope that you will leave with very nice memories.
