We'll start our tour from Mount Scopus observation, to the east on the Judean Desert and we'll understand the phenomena Rain shadow which made the eastern slopes of the Judean Mountains ridge a desert. The Judean Desert named also "The Desert of Jerusalem" or "The Holly Desert" probably because its proximity to Jerusalem and because of the many holly people and monks who found refuge, place to meditate and worship God in a very devoted way. Short drive to the most beautiful observation in Israel, and one of the most significant places in the world is the Mount of Olives overlooking the Temple Mount.
Short drive on Hwy 1 will bring us to St. George monastery observation on the bank of Wadi Qelt. The monastery is one of five that still function in its original Byzantine style. More then 1,500 years ago the Byzantine sponsored more then hundred monasteries flourishing the desert with thousand of monks. After quick lunch and bath stop, we will continue to one of the amazing places in Israel St. Sabas monastery "Marsaba". Driving steep road to Wadi Kidron is always a thrill but the observation on the monastery worst any inconvenient. From here we'll take the quickest way back to Jerusalem. Notes: Price Includes:
