Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Vienna to Cejkovice.
We meet with our guides in the morning and we drive to the Czech Republic. Today we will enjoy the Moravian countryside with its vineyards, neat little villages, and friendly local people. You will explore the UNESCO protected region of Lednice and Valtice, which belonged for centuries to the noble family of Lichtensteins. You will walk approximately four miles among vineyards and experience the chateau complex of Lednice with its gorgeous gardens and trails winding along statues, chapels, peaceful ponds and other romantic structures.

Day 2: Bile Karpaty.
In the morning we transfer to Bílé Karpaty, the White Carpathian Mounts. Today we will hike through this natural reserve, which stretches along the border between the Czech Republic and Slovakia. This mountain range is unique and known for its beautiful flower meadows of rare orchid species and other protected fauna. We hike along the border and have lunch at an old windmill in the village of Kuzelov. After lunch we return to Cejkovice. The hike is approximately 6 ½ miles.

Day 3: Rostejn Castle – Telc.
In the morning we transfer westward to Bohemian to explore the Moravian highlands and Rostejn Castle. After lunch we hike about six miles from the castle through local forests and meadows towards the historic town of Telc. This place is special for its charming and well preserved architecture of Renaissance and Baroque houses. It is on the UNESCO World Heritage list. You’ll feel as if you are stepping straight into a fairy tale when you are surrounded by the village’s arcades and the pastel, gabled “gingerbread” houses.

Day 4: Czech Canada Park, Slavonice.
In the morning we drive south of Telc to Stare Mesto pod Landstejnem. From here we hike trough the natural park called Czech Canada. This region of South Bohemia stretches along the border between the Czech Republic and Austria. It is typical for its deep forests, romantic lakes and low density of population. Our trail winds through the forests of Czech Canada where we will encounter several little bunkers - quiet witnesses to World War II. After lunch we visit the little town of Slavonice with its richly decorated houses dating back to the fifteen hundreds. The hike is about five miles.

Day 5: Telc – Cesky Krumlov.
In the morning we transfer westward to the South Bohemian Lake District of Trebon. This beautiful region of numerous little lakes and villages stretches across the original formal property of the Rosenbergs - one of the most powerful Czech nobel family in the Midlle Ages. We will walk approximately three miles along the largest lake and have lunch at one of the local fish restaurants where you can try carp, the local specialty. We suggest you wash it down with beer from the local brewery dating back to 1379. After lunch transfer to Cesky Krumlov.

Day 6: Vyssi Brod – Rozmberk.
We start with a morning transfer to the little town of Vyssi Brod near the Austrian border which boasts a 13th century monastery with a unique 17th century library. We will tour the monastery and after lunch hike to Rozmberk – a little town on Vltava River with a castle of the same name. This was another seat of the Rosenbergs. Our five-mile hike takes us through the woods and meadows of the Sumava Foothills.
Hike: rolling, 5 miles
Overnight: Cesky Krumlov
Meals: B, L, D
Day 7: Cesky Krumlov - Prague.
In the morning we transfer from South Bohemia to Prague

This itinerary averages 2-3 hours of hiking per day on easy terrain. Terrain varies from flat to rolling. Inclusions: lodging 6 nights in 3-4 star properties, meals as indicated, van transportation; driver; English speaking guide; entrance fees. Itinerary is available for groups as small as 1 or 2 persons. Pricing varies depending on size of group. Hotels subject to availability. Tour can go in either direction, Vienna to Prague or Prague to Vienna.
