Starting from Antigua it is a half day transfer to the Sierra de las Minas Mountains. This range is situated between the volcanic corridor and the Cuchumatanes Mountains and due to its isolated nature it is one of the most unique and well preserved wilderness areas in Central America. From the tops of its desert-like mountains to the lush jungle streams that run between them, this 4 day trek into the un-exploited Sierra de las Minas would be the highlight of any trekker's trip.
