Our tour's destination is the Negev ancient city of Mamshit (Memphis/ Kurnub), declared as a world heritage city by UNESCO. Memphis was the jewel in the crown of Christianity’s earliest days. Firstly, settled by the nomadic Nabateans trading a long the Incense Route. The city is the smallest but best restored city in the Negev Desert. The once luxurious houses have unusual architecture not found in any other Nabatean city. Entire streets have survived intact, two beautiful churches with colorful mosaic floor and marble pillars were discovered in Mamshit we shall walk between the palaces and churches, uncover the secret of the Nabatean agriculture in the arid desert. After a short brake of hot Turkish coffee or herbal tea you can experience a camel ride.
