Trip highlight: Beautiful drive from Hanoi to Mai Chau, Home stay in the local house of very hospitable Thai people, trekking in the valley and discover Cuc Phuong national park. Day 1: HANOI - MAI CHAU (-/L/D) Depart from Hanoi to Mai Chau – the peaceful valley in the West of Hanoi. This trip gives you a lot of photo opportunities with spectacular scenery of mountain area and rice fields. Upon arrival to Mai Chau, check in and have lunch at local house of Thai people in Pom Coong village. Afternoon we will take a walk around the valley to visit some nearby villages, carpet green rice fields and Mai Chau town. Dinner and overnight in the long house of Thai people. Day 2: MAI CHAU - XAM KHOE - MAI CHAU (B/L/D) After breakfast, we will drive to the central of the valley for 20 kms trekking back to the house on the stilts. We start to trek mountainsides to Xam Khoe Village. The trekking is difficult at times with some steep uphill and downhill walking, but the views are incredible however some physical preparation will enable you to fully appreciate today's trek. Then we will hike along the path over villages of Thai people. Picnic lunch in a family of Thai people on the way. After lunch we trek up 4 kms over the bamboo forest over the mountain towards to our village. Get back to Pom Coong Village in the afternoon. After dinner, enjoy the great music and dance performance of Thai people in the village. Overnight at the long house of the Thai people. Day 3: MAI CHAU - CUC PHUONG (B/L/D) This morning we will drive to the beautiful jungle then take a hike to village of Muong people on the beautiful plateau overview to Da river. Then visit Xa Linh, the village of Mong people before coming back to Mai Chau for lunch. After lunch we will drive to Cuc Phuong National Park. Once we have settled into our rooms we will visit the Endangered Primate Rescue centre and learn a little of the work that is being done to preserve the endangered native primates. Overnight in Cuc Phuong. Day 4: CUC PHUONG - VAN LONG - HANOI (B/L/-) This morning we will take 2 hour hike in the biggest national park of Vietnam to 1000 years old Sau tree. You will have a chance to learn about great fauna and flora of the park on the way. Then drive to Van Long Nature Reserve. Here we have one-hour rowing boat trip to discover the amazing scenery of this nature reserve with lime stone mountains and caves. After having lunch at Van Long Resort’s restaurant, we will drive back to Hanoi. Tour End. Notes: Tour in Standard Class
