Days 1-2: Bangkok, Thailand. Once met upon arrival at Bangkok international Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel where you can settle in and relax. We gather together for an evening dinner and drinks at the hotel to get to know each other. The following day we visit the Royal Palace, the local Wat's and enjoy the many markets along with a boat ride along the Chao Phraya River before departing on the 1st class sleeper train to Chang Mai. Day 3: Chang Mai. On arrival into Chang Mai we check into your hotel. After lunch visit the stunning Doi Suthep temple on the mountain top. From here you can see stunning views of Chang Mai below. Return to the hotel and the evening is free to roam the city for the local night markets and sumptuous meals for local flavor. Includes: (B), (L).
Day 4: Golden Triangle-Chang Khong. Travel by car to see the famous golden triangle where Laos, Myanmar and Thailand meet, visiting the Opium museum and the hill tribes before continuing onto Chang Khong where we spend the night on the Mekong overlooking into Laos and it's mighty jungle on the other side. Days 5-6: Chang Khong-Luang Prabang. After crossing the border into Laos we continue our journey along the Mekong to Luang Prabang on a two day boat trip. Along the way we admire the calmness, scenery and the tranquility whilst leaving everything else behind. We stop at Pak Beng on the first night. The second day takes us to Luang Prabang past the river side Pak Ou Caves on the way. These caves are packed with historical Buddha images. Arriving at Luang Prabang we transfer to your hotel and the evening is free to walk around this majestic colonial French town with its splendid architecture. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Days 7-8: Luang Prabang-Vang Vieng. Early morning drive to Vang Vieng where you will check into the Thavansouk bungalows overlooking the Nam Song River. An afternoon spent relaxing, tubing or kayaking down the Nam Song River whilst taking in the beautiful scenery of the limestone cliffs. Next day choose from a number of day trips including kayaking, rafting, caving or trekking. Spend the evening free to relax and explore the town. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 9: Vang Vieng-Vientiane. In the morning we travel to Vientiane and spend the afternoon exploring the city. You can choose from many things to see and do. The morning market, Wat Sisaket, Tat Luang Stuppa and even the strange and wonderful Buddha Sculpture Park. Includes: (B), (L).
Day 10: Vientiane-Bolaven Plateau. After sleeping on the o overnight bus to Pakse we head to the town of Phoui, briefly stopping at Tan Fan waterfall on the way. After a lunch break we visit the coffee plantations. Seeing the whole processing of the coffee from planting, picking and roasting to the cupping of the coffee. We spend the night in Phoui in a village stay right beside a fair trade coffee plantation. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 11: Bolaven Plateau. From the local village we have a half day easy trek to waterfalls around Phoui. After lunch we head to the scenic Tad Paxuam waterfall and the local ethnic village, before crossing the Mekong river and heading to the Town of Champasak where we will stay at the Anuoxa Guest house. Includes: (B), (L).
Day 12: Wat Phu Champasak-Ban Kiat Ngong-Don Khong. After breakfast the morning see us visiting Wat Phu. This Natural Heritage Site was built in the 6th century by the Khmer's and was originally used to worship the Hindu god Shiva and other deity's before being converted into a Buddhist temple in later centuries. Wat Phu was considered the center of the Khmer kingdom until it was moved to Angkor Wat in the 12th century. Still an important monument today, it is visited by many people from around the world and every year hosts the three day Bun Wat Phu Champasak (Wat Phu Champasak Festival). After lunch head towards Xe Pian NBCA. At the village of Ban Kiat Ngong you will take an elephant ride up the mountain top to visit Phouasa Temple. After the elephant trek we continue onto Don Khong where you will spend the night at the Sala Don Khong resort at the heart of the 4000 islands. Includes: (B), (L).
Day 13: Don Khong-Don Det-Pakse. Departing Don Khong Island at 8:00 am, we take our kayaks through the 4000 islands. We stop at Don Det Ban Khone Island where we see the old railway bridge and have lunch. After lunch we put in below Limpi waterfall and kayak with the river to see the rare Irrawaddy dolphins. Can you think of a better way of getting to see them without disturbing their habitat? Kayaking is the best way to get close to the dolphins. The best place to see them is on the other side of the Laos border. Yes, we enter Cambodia and then come back to Laos so have your passports ready just in case. We take out at the Laos border with Cambodia and head back to Pakse, but not before stopping at Khon Pa Peng waterfall, the largest cascades on the Mekong, and see the real power of nature. Overnight at the Pakse Hotel. Includes: (B), (L).
Days 14-15: Pakse-Siem Reap. We transfer to Siem Reap from Pakse on a morning flight to view one of the Wonders of the World, the Angkor Temples. Two days are spent here visiting these Khmer temples which date back to the 9th Century and are know as one of humankind's most impressive architectural accomplishments. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 16: Siem Reap-Battambang. Start the day with one of the most beautiful boat trips in South East Asia. Leaving from Siem Reap along the the Sangker river, you will travel down the river passing through protected wetlands, narrow waterways and floating villages. Arrive in Battambang and spend the evening exploring the town. Includes: (B), (L).
Day 17: Battambang-Phnom Penh. Bus travel to Phnom Penh. Spend the afternoon relaxing or visiting the markets. This is a good day to relax and catch up on things from the continuous pace of the previous days experiences. Includes: (B), (L).
Day 18: Phnom Penh. Spend the day seeing the sites of the city. We visit the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda before going to the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum formerly used as a prison during Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge reign. Your evening is free to explore the markets. Includes: (B), (L).
Day 19: Phnom Penh To Chao Dao (Vietnam Cambodian border). Travel South East from Phnom Penh to the Vietnam border after immigration checks we check into your hotel and spend the evening walking up a small hill where you will have great views of the Mekong Delta, Cambodia and Vietnam. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 20: Chao Dao-Mekong Delta-Ho Chi Minh City. Spend the day on a river boat seeing the sights of the Mekong Delta including the local floating markets and the pristine jungle before heading to the financial capital Ho Chi Minh (formerly Saigon). Includes: (B), (L).
Day 21: Ho Chi Minh City. See the major attractions in town such as War Museum, Nortre Dam Cathedral and Reunification Palace have a late lunch and the rest of the day is free for you to roam and shop. Overnight at hotel in Saigon. Includes: (B), (L).
Day 22: Ho Chi Minh/Cu Chi/Tay Ninh. Excursion to the Cu Chi tunnels, then continue to Tay Ninh, the headquarters of the Cao Dai Sect, the evening free to do as you please either taking in the night life of Ho Chi Min or resting up in your hotel in Saigon. Includes: (B), (L).
Day 23: Ho Chi Minh-Hue. Take the flight to Hue, on arrival visit Tu Duc's tomb the Citadel and the Imperial City. After Lunch take a cruise along the Perfume River and visit Thien Mu Pagoda evening dinner by the river. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 24: Hue-Hoian. Transfer to Hoian via the Hai Van pass, day free to walk around this world heritage town and shop in the markets. Includes: (B).
Day 25: Hoian-Danang-Hanoi. Transfer to Danang for your flight to Hanoi, on arrival in Hanoi spend the rest of the day sightseeing you will see the Hochiminh Mausoleum (closed on Monday and Friday), One Pillar Pagoda, Temple of Literature, the Restored Sword lake with Ngoc Son Temple before having dinner by the lake. Overnight at hotel in Hanoi. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 26: Hanoi-Halong Bay. Take a morning drive to the world heritage site of Halong Bay. Lunch on the Bay, before you will embark on a two day boat cruise of these crystal clear waters taking in the scenery of the magnificent Limestone cliffs. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 27: Halong-Hanoi. Return to Hanoi from Halong Bay and transfer to your hotel. Includes: (B), (L).
Day 28: Hanoi. Transfer to you international flight or aid in organizing you continuing journey.
