Location: Gulf Islands, Northwest Trinidad.
Distance: 4 miles (6.4km) return.
Time: 4 hours.

From the jetty, “Perriquier Bay”, we will now turn the opposite direction where land erosion is very evident. We trek around the erosion until we come to a bay (Stanislas Bay). Walk through the trees and up a little hill until you see a paved road. Once that is sighted, follow the road up a very gentle incline above La Chapelle Bay. Walk all along the paved road for about 25 minutes until you will eventually see the majestic “Salt Pond” dead ahead of you, providing that the vegetation is kind enough to give us a vantage view. Once that is so, the view is simply astounding. Continue trekking on the road until a sudden turn off on the left has to be taken. Unfortunately because of the terrible overgrowth, you just have to know when to take that left turn, or else, if you continue along the paved road, you will come to a dead-end. Anyway, at this left turn, just a five minute walk and at last, you are now in total seclusion on a great beach called “Bande du sud” (Southern Beach). A must bathe and relax.
