- Location: Northern Range, Trinidad
- Type of Journey: Return trip - Distance: 5 miles (8km) - Time: 7 hours - Highest Elevation: 3072 feet (936m) - Degree of Difficulty: 7 (difficult). Drive all the way up Maracas St. Joseph until you come to “Hobal Trace” road sign on your right; turn here and continue driving up the narrow road until you come to the dead end. Park here and your journey begins. Up the hill you go at once keeping on the fairly wide trail at all times, totally ignoring any trail on your left or right. Pristine forest all around you all the way up. Beautiful views of the valley below as you trek further uphill. Remember again that the climb, though not that steep, is steady all the way, so your fitness level must be good. As we get closer to the summit, we will begin to feel a difference in the temperature of the atmosphere, as well as we will also see the difference in the flora. On top of El Tucuche, once the weather is good, fantastic views all round you; its simply majestic as you will see. Great views of Las Cuevas Bay and further north all the way to Blanchisseuse. To the south, astounding views of the entire Southern Range as well as the Central Range. Trinidad at its glorious best from the summit. After we take a well deserved rest, its time to retrace our steps back downhill back to the cars. Notes: Prices:
