- Location: Heights of Guanapo, Northern Range
- Type of Journey: Return trip - Distance: 2.8 miles (4.5km) - Time: 2 hours 30 minutes one way - Degree of Difficulty: 3 (fair). Welcome to the Heights of Guanapo. A very quiet place with very few houses along the way into the forest where there is a lot of quarrying taking place inside the forest. We will drive to the quarry, and when we reach there, we park by the river and start trekking. A clear and distinct trail lies ahead of us all the way for about an hour and a half, that is, until we reach the river where we can take a few minutes. This part of the river ironically is the finish line of the trek through the gorges. We head on further northwards for a further hour until we reach the river once again. This part of the river for your information is the boundary between the Heights of Guanapo and the Heights of Aripo. From here, the adventure begins, we start heading downstream all the way where a series of interesting rock formations together with deep pools and relatively long deep gorges awaits our arrival. One word of caution: please be advised that this is NOT an expedition for non-swimmers whatsoever. Based on your agility and how you handle the different hurdles along the way will determine how long you stay in the gorges. Once completed, we would again mentioned earlier be where we met the river earlier on. Again, we will take our final break before retracing our way back to the quarry. Notes: Prices:
