Depart from Auckland or Tauranga at 7.30am and drive direct to Rotorua. Visit Rachel Springs, the hottest springs in Rotorua, the Rotorua Museum and Bath House within the tranquil Government Gardens, the Waiatapu Mud Pools, St. Faiths Church and Ohinemutu.

For lunch enjoy a 3 hour cruise on the 38ft Clearwater Pride launch across the picturesque Lake Tarawera, where you can enjoy the scenic cruise and listen to early Maori and volcanic history of the area. Your choice thereafter, is to relax and unwind or take a hand at fishing for a trophy sized rainbow trout. You can explore the untouched native bush at Hot Water Beach and immerse yourself in the natural thermal waters.

Disembark from Clearwater Pride to visit Te Wairoa Buried Village, the site where in 1886 four hours of volcanic explosions, claimed 150 lives and buried 5000 square miles of village, including the eighth wonder of the world: the Pink and White Terraces.
