- Location: Eastern Northern Range
- Type of Journey: Return trip - Distance: 3 miles (5km) - Time: 2 hours 30 minutes - Elevation: 553 feet (162m) - Degree of Difficulty: 3 (fair). We are on the Valencia-Matura Road. When we cross the Oropuche River bridge, where is a popular bathing spot, continue for a further 1.2 km until the road turns sharply to the right. Turn left at this point where a dirt track is present. Drive all the way up until we reach the top of the hill; this is where we will park. We trek along rough gravel road until a trail becomes present. Secondary forest is now present as we begin our gradual climb up the trail. Totally ignore any trails on your left and right, and stay on the main trail. As you walk along this trail to the end, what you will see is that all of a sudden, there is no where further to go, for there is a terrible overgrowth. When you reach there, you know that it is just a couple of years back you have to go, and from that way, take the left turn (right turn originally on your way to the river), and head down the steep hill all the way to the bottom. Once there, again, turn left and walk until you see the emerald green waters encouraging you to come in. Great river trekking can be done both upstream and downstream where many beautiful small pools await your visit. Notes: Prices:
