- Distance: 1 mile
- Time: 1 hour 15 minutes one way - Degree of Difficulty: 2 (easy). When we reach on the Oropuche River bridge, just about 500 yards further, on the left hand side, we can park and get ready. We will be trekking through private property, although nobody lives there, that private road is the main way through to get to the river. Lots of sun we will have to endure for a while until we reach the river. Again, emerald green waters awaits our visit. As we trek upstream, we will see lots of great small rapids that gives off many therapeutic sounds that is very soothing. What is nice is that whilst we trek upstream, one can easily take a dip, a little swim and continue trekking all at once. There are great pools, plus a very long deep river gorge that can either be crossed or if another adventure you feel for, then it’s back up the hill for a further 30 minutes to get across the gorge. Once beyond, we are not too far from the WASA (Water and Sewerage Authority) water treatment plant. Just before that plant lies an astounding pool that will open eyes. A great place to swim and have fun; even a great place to find yourself a perch and either sleep or read, your choice. Notes: Prices:
