The group meets at Arassari Treks (our representative in Mérida) office at 9am on the day of the trip. After fitting on the suits we take a 30 minute jeep drive to the location from which you will be greeted by spectacular views of Mérida (perhaps the best available). After another 30 minutes walk, mainly downhill, to the site where the group will receive some abseil training. Then it is time for the adventure of your life!!! There are several small "chutes" to slide down, a heart pounding 7- 8 meters natural hydro slide (where you may become airborne!!), and three powerful waterfalls to abseil (rappel) down including a 35 meters monster at the end. The trip will return around 4 pm (depending on numbers and speed). The actual time in the canyon is around 4 hours. Minimum driving – maximum adventure!
What to Bring?
- Swimming costume or similar (to wear under your wet suit)
- Shoes for canyoning (they will get very wet! Please wear socks.)
- Clothes for the completion of the trip
- Towel
- A great sense of adventure for a fun time!!
