Tour Itinerary:
Days 1-6. Day 1-6 : Departing from Jakera Lodge in Playa Colorada to the Morichal Largo a wildlife-rich tributary of the Orinoco. Paddling the way of the 'Warao' Indians (the people of the canoe) as they have for 20,000 years. We will paddle down these sublime waterways - going deep, deep into untouched areas. The Warao people are as amazed at seeing us as we are seeing them in this isolated area. Learn about their unique culture. Try traditional foods caught and gathered in this dense and seemingly endless jungle. Encounter red howler and cappuccino monkeys, piranhas, anaconda, river otters, rare manatee, pink river dolphins, huge Macaw, parrots, and much more. This is truly a unique and wonderful experience. Transfer back to Playa Colorada by jeep. BLD Technical Notes: Put in point Morichal Largo bridge, then paddle the full length of Morichal largo to Isla Guamal and onto the mighty Cano Manamo for the final stretch to Boca do Uracoa. 180 km total, 110 km down stream with about 1 - 2 knots in our favour and around 70 km of tidal navigation. Some days may involve up to 8 hours of paddling so a minimum level of fitness is required... Notes: Price Includes:
