Day 1: Paledora – Jaisamand
After breakfast we will collect you from your hotel and bring you to the starting point of our safari approx. 20 km away from Udaipur. Here you will get to know your horses and start your ride to the Jaisamand Wildlife Sanctuary, one of the three national parks of Southern Rajasthan, well-know for its population of Cheetal deer, wild boars, leopards, Chinkara gazelle, civits and jungle cats. Jaisamand offers a great vegetation of virgin dry deciduous forest including salar and dhok. Around lunch time you will reach an old hunting lodge of the Maharanas of Udaipur who used to come here for hunting wild boar and tigers which are now extinct in this area.
Around late afternoon you will leave the sanctuary and arrive at the mighty Jaisamand Lake, the second largest man-made lake in Asia. Here you will catch a boat which will bring you to your hotel, a comfortable island resort in the middle of the lake. Enjoy the serene surrounding of the hotel, its outstanding facilities or simply watch the rich variety of water birds to be found at the lake. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2: Jaisamand - Jagat
After breakfast we collect you from your hotel and bring you to where the horses are waiting for you. Start your day ride at a short distance of Lake Jaisamand and ride through little villages and cultivated fields until you come to a more arid and hilly area. Here vegetation is sparse except for pioneer plants such as Sal or Dhak. The landscape around here is very scenic with rocky ravines before the backdrop of the hills. Around lunch time you will arrive in the little village of Jagat, boasting an ancient and very interesting temple complex renown for its exquisite stone carving. Picnic lunch will be held at the temples so there is time to explore the temple and if you like the nearby village. Continue your way through a more level area full of dhak trees and occasional palm trees. Arrival in our safari camp around late afternoon. Overnight stay in our safari camp.
Day 3: Jagat – Bambora
Today the riders will cross the last hills of the Aravalli Mountains where they merge with the rather flat Malwa Plain. Horse and rider have to do some climbing through canyons and along slopes but reach a more level countryside after lunch. Again this lonely area is rich in wildlife and with some luck gazelle or Chinkara can be spotted. In the afternoon you will arrive at the spot where the horses stay overnight. Here we will pick you up and bring you to Bambora Fort, your hotel for the night. Bambora Fort is a beautiful Rajput palace turned into a heritage hotel but retaining its old splendor with old-fashioned halls and doorways and beautifully decorated rooms. Overnight stay in the hotel.
Return to Udaipur the following morning, program ends after arrival there.
