7 Days Pilgrimage to Poland
Krakow - Medieval Salt Mine - Divine Mercy Sanctuary - Replica Of Golgotha - Birthplace of John Paul II - Nazi Concentration Camp - Krakow - Tatra Mountains - Black Madonna.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: A warm welcome by Anna or Shubho & other DLI Travel Team member at Krakow Airport; transfer to accommodation, few steps from the Medieval Market Square; evening guided tour around Krakow Old Town (UNESCO Heritage). Includes: (D).
Day 2: Morning visit to the Divine Mercy Shrine in Krakow - Lagiewniki. A Listen & learn more about our Lords Mercy from the talks given by one of the Sisters. Take part in Divine Mercy Chaplet at 3 pm in front of St Faustina's Tomb, celebrating Mass in the Basilica. Dinner in Krakow. Transfer to Wieliczka at 4:30pm, visit one of the oldest Salt Mines in Europe (UNESCO Heritage) the most beautiful salt mine, listed among 12 most priceless monuments of the world, with Dinner organized in a private Salt Chamber - a unique experience.
Day 3: Transfer to Kalwaria Zebrzydowska, replica of Golgotha, beautiful baroque pilgrimage site dear to Pope John Paul II. visiting Bernardine monastery with 44 chapels (UNESCO Heritage). Transfer to Wadowice - visit the house where John Paul II was born and the basilica where he was baptized. Visit the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration and extermination camp museum (UNESCO Heritage). Dinner in Krakow.
Day 4: Panoramic guided tour of Krakow. Follow the Royal Route. Visit Wawel Royal Castle and Cathedral. It is one of the most magnificent Renaissance royal residences in Europe. At Wawel Hill Polish kings were crowned, reigned and buried till the 16th century. It is a place that lies at the heart of Polish history. Later Stroll through the oldest street of Krakow. Further walk around medieval churches, among them St Adelbet's church, the oldest in Southern Poland. After noon at leisure. Later visit a Amber gallery. Dinner in a floating cruise on Wistula River with the back drop of Krakow Castle.
Day 5: Leave for Black Madonna Shrine. 2.5 hrs drive through the white rocky limestone trail adorned with castles; Hercules Mace Rock. Visiting Monastery of Our Lady of Czestochowa, the biggest Marian Shrine of Poland, known as. Black Madonna, celebrating Mass in Black Madonna chapel and a guided tour of the monastery by one of the monks. A Special dinner organized at a Polish Home hosted by a Polish Family - a unique experience!
Day 6: Morning drive to Zakopane, a beautiful resort village nestled in the splendor of the Tatra Mountains region. Visit the local market famous for wood craft, leather and other souvenir. Later climb to the hill by a funicular Rail. Enjoy BBQ Polish Sausages. Experience a joyful horse carriage ride and later go for a cable car ride for extraordinary breathtaking views. Farewell dinner: Greeted by Cocktails, the dinner is organized at Hawelka Restaurant. Which is among the very few restaurants serving the nobles of Krakow from 1876.
Day 7: All morning at leisure. Enjoy the Market Square or repeat visit to Devine Mercy Shrine (optional). Afternoon transfer to Krakow airport.
