In this tour you visit the two most important cities in Poland, the first being Warsaw, its vibrant and booming capital, rebuilt and reborn after World War Two, with its old town lovingly restored. Then Krakow, the cultural heart of Poland and for many years its Royal capital. Krakow is a stunning city with a history spanning over one thousand years. Then onwards south to Zakopane. Nestled in the mountains this is a friendly little town, and with the incredible Tatra Mountains on its doorstep, it is a very beautiful place to stay. Tour Itinerary: Day 1: Arrive at Warsaw airport to be met by your private transfer who will take you to your centrally located 4* hotel in Warsaw. Overnight: 4* Hotel in Warsaw. Day 2: You will be met in reception for a private four hour walking tour of Warsaw Old Town and the Royal Castle. Warsaw is the present day capital of Poland and home to 1.7 million people. After its destruction during World War Two, Warsaw's Old Town has been painstakingly and lovingly restored. Overnight: 4* Hotel in Warsaw. Day 3: Meet our guide at your hotel reception and enjoy a wonderful day trip to Wilanow Palace and Gardens. This stunning Palace was left untouched during World War II - so the Palace is almost exactly as it was. The Palace is one of Poland’s National treasures and is a very beautiful place to visit. After a break for lunch you will continue on to Nieborow - Radziwills Baroque Residence. This palace was originally built for the Cardinal Archbishop of Lowicz, and also belonged to various families including the Radziwills. There is a wonderful park to enjoy. Overnight: 4* Hotel in Warsaw. Day 4: Check out of your hotel to meet your driver/guide for your private transfer to Krakow, then check into your 4* hotel for a three night stay. Overnight: 4* Hotel in Krakow. Day 5: You will be met in reception at your hotel for a private four hour walking tour of Krakow Old Town, and Wawel Castle. Krakow is a beautiful city. For centuries it was the royal capital of Poland. This high status drew artists, musicians, writers and philosophers from all over the world to come and live in the city. The result was a city rich in culture and, for us, a legacy of wonderful architecture and places of interest. You will see some wonderful sights including Wawel Castle, the Old Town, the Jewish District - Kazimierz. Overnight: 4* Hotel in Krakow. Day 6: Enjoy Krakow at your leisure. Overnight: 4* Hotel in Krakow Day 7: Check out of your hotel and meet your guide for a half day trip to either The Salt Mine or Auschwitz. Wieliczka Salt Mine is an underground world with underwater lakes, handcarved figures and charming chapels. Auschwitz - Birkenau Museum is around 50 kilometres from Krakow. The basic structures of the concentration camps are still intact, and many travel to Auschwitz in honour of those who lost their lives here. After your visit continue on to Zakopane. Check into your 4* hotel for a two night stay. Nestled into a valley in the mountains, Zakopane is a lovely mountain town, with the spectacular Tatra Mountains on its doorstep - it's a beautiful place to stay. Overnight: 4* Hotel in Zakopane. Day 8: Meet our guide for a walking tour of Zakopane and a cable car trip to Kasprowy Wierch (1,957 metres above sea level) and experience the incredible panoramic views of the Tatra Mountain Peaks and the Tatra National Park. The Tatra Mountains are the highest range of the Carpathian Mountains that run along the Polish and Slovakian border. Overnight: 4* Hotel in Zakopane.
