Tour Itinerary:
Days 1-2: Arrival to Yerevan, Armenia. Arrival to Yerevan, Armenia. Meeting and transfer to hotel. Accommodation at the hotel Golden Tulip Yerevan. Rest. 11:00 Yerevan, Armenia – sightseeing Tour. 10:00 Breakfast. City tour with visits of Matenadaran, Genocide Memorial to the victims of 1915. Lunch. Excursions to the center of Armenian-Apostolic Church in Echmiadzin, visit to Main Cathedral and Hripsime church. Dinner. Overnight in Yerevan, Armenia. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 3: Yerevan – Garni – Geghard - Yerevan.
09.00 - Breakfast
10:00 - Excursion to the pagan temple in Garni and cave monastery in Geghard
13.00 – Lunch in a restaurant “Your Village” in Garni
15.00 - Visit to the National History museum
19.00 - Dinner. Armenian folk show program. Overnight in Yerevan, Armenia. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 4: Yerevan – Khor Virap – Noravank - Sevan.
08.00 - Breakfast
08.30 - Transfer to Lake Sevan with visits to Khor Virap Monastery, one of the romantically sited monasteries in Armenia with view to the twin peaks of Mount Ararat and to the 12th century monastery complex of Noravank set in a canyon rich with rare flora.
13.00 - Lunch
14.00 - After picnic lunch excursion to the Selim pass with visit of medieval caravanserai on the Great Silk Road. Then proceed to the Lake Sevan, accommodation at Harsnaqar hotel. 19.00 - Dinner at the sea food restaurant. Overnight in Sevan, Armenia. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 5: Geo/Arm border (Sadakhlo) – Tbilisi – sightseeing tour. Meet at Geo/Arm border (Sadakhlo) and drive to Tbilisi. Dinner in a local restaurant. Overnight at a hotel in Tbilisi. We start Tbilisi Sightseeing tour. During the tour we will take you to the places that will show you old city. You will be able to take a glance to the history of the city from early centuries to nowadays by walking in narrow streets of the city and exploring the religious and secular architecture. Here you will find different religious buildings – churches, synagogues, mosques, as well as famous 19th century houses with wooden multi-coloured balconies. You will visit the sulfur bath which made an unforgettable impression on Pushkin, Lermontov, Duma. During the tour you will be able to enjoy the superb panoramic view of the Old city. After lunch we visit the stunning treasury of the Georgian National Art Museum, before taking a stroll along Rustaveli Avenue – the main street in Tbilisi. Dinner in a local restaurant. Overnight at a hotel in Tbilisi. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 6: Tbilisi – Mtsketa – Gori – Tbilisi. We drive to visit the ancient capital and religious center of Georgia – Mtskheta (3000 years old) and see its historical places: Jvari church (6th century) and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (11th century) where the Robe of Christ is buried. Both Jvari and Svetitskhoveli are UNESCO World Heritage sites. Afterwards we will visit the town of Gori – the heart of Kartli region, have lunch and drive to visit Uplistsikhe Cave Town (1st millennium BC), that’s the place where the Great Silk Road used to pass. This is an old and interesting complex with dwelling quarters, wine-cellars, bakeries, a three-nave basilica church hewn out in rock and even an antic theatre. Than we visit Stalin’s museum and his biggest statue still surviving in the city center. Dinner in a local restaurant. Overnight at a hotel in Tbilisi. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 7: Tbilisi – Signagi – Telavi. In the morning we drive to Kakheti region well known for its wine producing. We enjoy super views of Great Caucasus Mountains and valleys of Kakheti, acknowledge traditions and culture of the country and region, taste wines and delicious food. First we will visit fortified town of Signagi (18th century). The town preserved its original image and now offers visitors stunning views of the surrounding Caucasus Mountains. After lunch we drive to visit farmer’s house to see a unique 300 year-old wine-cellar. We get acquainted with the Georgian way of wine-making, quite different from the European one and drink typical Georgian wine straight from the clay jars. Afterwards we drive to Telavi – administrative centre of Kakheti region. Dinner and overnight in Telavi at a family guesthouse (shared facilities). Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 8: Kakheti region. In the morning visit local farmers market, then visit Gremi complex (16th century) and head to Nekresi Monastery (4th century) where we walk in a beautiful nature for one and a half hour. For lunch we will take you to a farmer’s house to enjoy the hospitality of the local people and sample some delicious home-made food and wine. Afterwards we visit Alaverdi Cathedral (11th century) and Ikalto monastery and academy (12th century) and drive back to Telavi. Dinner and overnight in Telavi at a family guesthouse (shared facilities). Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 9: Telavi – Geo-Az border (Lagodekhi) – Sheki. In the morning transfer to Geo/Az border (Lagodekhi). Change transportation and guide and drive to Sheki, visit Diri Baba mausoleum in Maraza, Yeddi Gumbez, Cuma masque in Shamakha, panorama of the city, Khan‘s palace, excursion to museum of history of Sheki and Shebeke. Dinner. Overnight at ‘Caravansaray’ hotel in Sheki.Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 10: Sheki – Baku. In the morning transfer to Baku. Lunch on the way, arrival to Baku. Dinner. Overnight at a hotel in Baku. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 11: Baku. In the morning we have Sightseeing tour in Baku. Have a panoramic view of the city, visit Shirvan Shahs Palace (15th century), Maiden Tower architectural monument (12th century), Caravanserai. After lunch visit Absheron peninsula, Fire Worshippers Templ in Surakhany district, historic-architectural monument of the 17th century in which cell’s there are exhibits which describe mode of life of the worshippers. Visit to the Merdakan Fortresses, Acquaintance with the Oil Industry. Excursion to the ‘Yanar Dag’ (Firing Mountain). Dinner. Overnight at a hotel in Baku. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 12: Baku. Today we visit ‘Gobustan’ more than 4000 rock-carvings which describe the mode of life of the ancient inhabitants, after lunch visit Art museum. Dinner in a local restaurant with folk show. Overnight at a hotel in Baku. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 13: Baku. Transfer to the airport and departure.
