Your Itinerary:
Day 1: Thursday. Depart on the schedule flight from Arusha to Mahale at 8 am. On arrival in Mahale you will take a 1.5 hour boat trip to Mahale Camp on the shores of Lake Tanganyka. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure to relax on the shores of Lake Tanganyka. Dinner and overnight at Greystoke Mahale Camp.
Day 2: Friday. Today you will have various options available to you. In the morning there is the option to trek the Chimpanzees or just take a walk in the forest to the nearby rock pools, or just relax by the lake and swim, with fantastic snorkeling. In the late afternoon there is the possibility of taking the dhow out for a sundowners cruise and some fishing. Dinner and overnight at Greystoke Mahale Camp.
Day 3: Saturday. Full day at Mahale with various activities available. Dinner and overnight Greystoke Mahale Camp.
Day 4: Sunday. Full day at Mahale with various activities available. Dinner and overnight Greystoke Mahale Camp.
Day 5: Monday. After breakfast there will be a morning at leisure, before departing on the dhow for your trip back to the airstrip. Picnic lunches will be prepared for you, to enjoy on the journey to the airstrip. On arrival at Mahale airstrip, you will board the plane and depart for Arusha airstrip arriving in the evening.
