Our guided walks are very much for those that want a comfortable holiday but at the same time being out in the open, walking, seeing and getting the feel for the Irish countryside. Our guides are selected because of their knowledge of the area which you will be walking. They will explain the ecology of the area, its history, art, architecture, customs, folklore and its natural history. Good accommodation, (private bathroom each location) and quality meals make for a holiday to be remembered.
Your Itinerary: Day 1: Arrive at Sneem. Short walk in the Parknasilla area. Evening meal at Sneem where we spend the first 2 nights. Day 2: Walk to the spectacular Staigue Fort. Breath-taking views to the south over the Kenmare Bay to the Beara Peninsula and west towards Derrynane. Day 3: Leaving Sneem we start our walk from the historic Derrynane House - famed as the home of Daniel O'Connell, The Liberator. We explore the National Park and Abbey Island and enjoy great coastal vistas towards Scariff Island and the Skellig Rock. Evening meal and overnight accommodation in Cahersiveen, where we spend the next two nights. Day 4: Walk on Valentia Island to Bray Head, with magnificent views of the Skelligs and the rocky coastline near Portmagee. Day 5: Walk near Glenbeigh around the base of Seefin on the Kerry Way, with views of Rossbeigh Strand, Dingle Bay and Caragh Lake. Departures. Recommended items to take along: - Lunch box and thermos flask - Midge repellent cream - Gaiters - Waterproof wax or spray for your boots - Any specific personal medical requirements - Camera and lots of film.
