Rising from the desert sands, the Pyramids of Giza are the most visited attraction in Egypt and standing in their shadow, its easy to see why.
Departing from your Cairo hotel you will travel to the Giza plateau, home to the Great Pyramids and Sphinx which date back over 3,000 years. Your qualified Egyptologist guide will introduce you to each of the 3 pyramids - Cheops, Khafre and Menakaure. You will have time to enter one of the pyramids (additional cost), however your guide is not permitted to enter with you. While there are actually over one hundred pyramids in Egypt, the Pyramids of Giza are by far the most famous and are the last of the original Seven Wonders of the World. Continue across the plateau for a photo opportunity of all 3 pyramids rising from the sands with the Cairo skyline in the background. A short drive to the city side of the plateau finds you standing at the feet of the Sphinx, a symbol which has come to represent the essence of Egypt for thousands of years. With the body of a lion and the head of a king, there is as much mystery surrounding who built it as there is determining why it was built. This is a private tour allowing you to determine the amount of time spent at each of the sites during the tour. In addition you will have the chance to visit a Papyrus Institute to see how this famous artwork is made and have the chance to purchase genuine items if you wish.
