Start with a 2 day wine tour in the Barcelona city combining wine and gastronomy with a litlle dosis of Gaudí architecture and end your wine tour in "La Terra Alta", the region placed in the most southern part of Catalonia forming border with Aragon (3 hours by car from Barcelona).
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Barcelona
Collection at Barcelona airport according to your flight schedule. 3 hours guided city tour in the afternoon. With your own private driver and separate art guide you will discover the highlights of Barcelona including the Picasso Museum, the Miró Museum, and Gaudi´s Parc Guell home of works of Picasso, Joan Miró and Gaudí Before returning to your hotel, your driver and guide will take you to the whimsical Parc Guell, a park landscaped by Modernist master Antoni Gaudi from the year 1900-1914. Free evening at your disposal with our suggestions.
Day 2: Barcelona
Breakfast in hotel. Today we have prepared a very special session. We will take you to visit the famous Boqueria Market, purchase the ingredients for your class, and then teach you hands-on the basics of Catalan cuisine. You may also request a specific Paella or Tapas class. This class will be followed by lunch of the dishes made by the group. Free evening and dinner at your disposal.
Days 3-4: Terra Alta
Travel to the Terra Alta wine region (3 hours from Barcelona). Enjoy its coloring landscapes where the vineyards fuse with the almond-trees and the olive trees allowing the visitor to enjoy the nature in pure condition. Taste the Spanish wines and the olive oil and stay in an unique country charming house between vineyards while enjoying the richness of its local gastronomy. Stay in a charming country house located in Arnés with a capacity for a minimum of 6 people with the possibility to add 6 more using the living room on the second floor (please see more information about the house in the file attached on the left side of this page).
We will visit 2 local wineries (Barbara Forés, Celler Piñol, Celler Clua..) enjoying a guided visit and private wine tasting. As an optional activity we would propose to enjoy ciclyng the green way of Terra Alta (beginners level) which will take us from Horta de Sant Joan to Pinell de Brai. The Green Way is a touristic, cultural and sports proposal which follows part of the route of the old railway, now asphalted.The itinerary crosses the Pàndols and Cavalls mountains, an area with spots of pristine beauty where one can enjoy peace and silence in the midst of Nature.It leads through areas that show a surprising diversity of landscapes, where rural settings devoted primarily to dry farming alternate with mountainous wooded areas marked by the abrupt shapes of sheer rock walls, canyons, gorges, narrow passages and small dams formed by the river Canaletes.
