In terms of hectares of vineyards, Castile - La Mancha is the most extensive wine-growing region in the world. This tour offers a whole world of experiences in the land that was the inspiration for the wanderings of one of literature's most famous knights, Don Quixote, of course we don´t forget the heritage in Madrid.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Madrid
Collection at Madrid airport. Check into your fashionable hotel located just steps from Madrid’s major art museums and beautiful Retiro Park. In the afternoon, your own private guide will take you on an art tour of Madrid. You´ll visit the Prado Museum, Spain´s most famous museum, and the Reina Sofia to see a collection of modern Spanish masters like Picasso (including Guernica) and Salvador Dalì. After your art tour, enjoy the evening on your own in Madrid.
Day 2: Madrid
Breakfast at hotel. The day is yours to explore Madrid on your own. There are a variety of wonderful museums to visit such as the Impressionist Sorolla museum (one of Madrid´s best kept secrets), the pretty Decorative Arts museum (with furniture, crystal and tapestries dating back to the 15th century) and of course the Thyssen Museum (private art collection spanning everything from 11th century Italian painting all the way to Pop Art). In This evening, we have some fabulous food and wine in store for you. You will enjoy a private Spanish wine masterclass with your own sommelier and chef. You´ll start with an aperitif of cava before taking your wine flight of Spain´s wine regions such as Toro, Bierzo, Rias Baixas and the Penedès. After your tasting, a selection of tantalizing Basque Pintxos will be served.
Day 3: Madrid
Breakfast at hotel. The day is yours to explore Madrid on your own with ou suggestions. Also you would have the opportunity (optional) to visit a winery in Toledo province and have lunch in Toledo. Enjoy a free evening in Madrid.
Day 4: Madrid - Pago del Vicario
Breakfast at hotel. Guided visit with wine- tasting at Pago del Vicario Cellar. Transport to Dehesa del Carrizal to enjoy a wine-tasting. Typical degustation menu for lunch in a Restaurant close to Dehesa del Carrizal. Rest of free afternoon and return to Hotel.
Day 5: Pago del Vicario
Continental Breakfast at hotel. Today we´ll follow follow Don Quixote Route. Lunch included in a Traditional Restaurant and back to Pago del Vicario Hotel.
Day 6: Pago del Vicario - Madrid
Continental breakfast at hotel. Free time. Return to Madrid.
