Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Transportation from Yerevan to Sevan Lake (Gegharkunik reg.) in a comfortable van. Altitude of Yerevan is approx. 850m/930 yards, altitude of Sevan is 1900m/1.2 miles. Here we start the cycling through Semenovka to Shamakhyan (1400m/1531 yards). The road is unsurfaced, time-to-time it turns into a horse pass and it does not cross the highway. Overnight stay is scheduled in Samakhyan village’s country house. The whole itinerary is 37 km/23 miles 13. Day 2: Moving from Shamakhyan to Kamut (alt.1950m/1.2 miles), then to Okon (alt. 1800 m/1.1 miles), where the territory of alpine fields begins – summer pastures with small areas of leaf forests. Overnight stay in Okon (stone house of local shepherds or in a tent). Passed itinerary – 37 km/ 23 miles. Day 3: Okon - Berzener - Homer. Alpine fields, pastures, mixed forest, river. Stay and rest at Active Rest Center "Apaga" ("Homer" cottage town). Total distance: 20 km/ 12.2 miles. Day 4: Homer - Ijevan - Upper Agadan - Gosh (alt. 1390 m/1520 yards). River and rocks, there is a forest on the North Slope. Overnight stay is scheduled in tents. Total distance: 70 km/43.5 miles 4. Day 5: Gosh-Sevan (alt. 1900 m/1.2 miles). Extremely beautiful canyon! Then Sevan’s coast. Drive by a van to Yerevan (55 km/34.2 miles totally). The hardest itineraries are on the 2nd and 3rd days of the trip. It is recommended to arrive to Yerevan on the eve of the trip, to get accustomed before the workload. During the trip the travelers are accompanied by a Guide-conductor on a bicycle and by another conductor on a horse or by a vehicle, depending on the difficulty of distance. Overnight stay organizing. Drive from Yerevan to the starting point and back. Notes:
