On the longest and most challenging of our kayaking expeditions, this program finds you paddling along the 65 mile stretch of untamed coast between Loreto and La Paz. Kayaking five to fourteen miles a day, we'll change camps daily (with one overlap). You'll explore remote coves and inlets, and experience excellent snorkeling; hike hidden canyons full of fascinating geology, and even visit a few small villages and the ruins of a Jesuit mission to sample a bit of local history and culture.

Our motorized support boat carries all camping equipment, personal gear, and the makings for delicious meals. There are even fresh water showers. The crew handles most camp chores and prepares all meals. Your expert guides share their knowledge of the area as they paddle with you and lead nature hikes and snorkeling explorations. Your journey ends with a nose-to-whiskers encounter with the sea lions of Los Islotes.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrive in Loreto, Mexico. Arrive in Loreto and check into your hotel. Today is yours to explore Loreto, the former capital of Baja California Sur, on your own. (No meals)

Day 2: Boat transfer from Loreto to first camp. An early morning boat ride aboard the support boat, the "Pez Sapo" takes us to our first camp on the Baja coast. Once there, we are oriented to the amenities of our camp and the basics of paddling techniques and safety before heading out on our very first short paddle. (Meals: B/L/D)

Days 3-6: Loreto to Espiritu Santo Island. Our days begin with spectacular, colorful sunrises. Early risers can enjoy bird watching at its early morning best, delighting in the antics of the blue-footed and brown boobies and the graceful brown pelicans who fish the waters. We will kayak five to fourteen miles each day, doing most of the paddling in the morning. Our support boat is always conveniently nearby. In the afternoon, we have lots of optional activities, such as going for a hike in spectacular, ochre-colored canyons or swimming with playful sea lions. You’ll also have a chance to snorkel among tropical fish and perhaps even score a chance sighting of a whale during spring months. Some of the islands we visit offer good mountain hiking, with dramatic vistas rewarding you at the ridge top. Evenings find us feasting on delicious food and enjoying happy hour cocktails as the sun sets on the horizon. (Meals: B/L/D)

Days 7-8: Espiritu Santo Island. We'll spend two nights at our base camp on the island of Espiritu Santo. On these days you will be free to kayak, snorkel, hike, look, hear, feel, breathe, enjoy, relax, eat, drink and be merry! (Meals: B/L/D)

Day 9: Espiritu Santo Island to La Paz. After breakfast we have time for one last paddle before our boat will take us to the lovely colonial town of La Paz. Dine in one of the many fine restaurants as you explore this charming city on your own this evening. (Meals: B/L)

Day 10: La Paz to your home city. Depart to your home city. (No meals)
