Tour Itinerary: Day 1: Sant Pere Pescador Arrival at Sant Pere Pescador, a village by the « Aiguamolls de l'Empordà » wetlands natural park. Accommodation in charming agro-tourism where you will find the road book, a map and general information from the area. Homemade dinner included. Day 2: Sant Pere Pescador – Roses (23 km/ 5 ½ hours) After breakfast, you can leave your luggage closed at the agro-tourism reception and start walking along the GR-92 path up to the city of Roses. Distance of 22 km, minimum of 5 ½ hours plus stops. You will enjoy the sights of the natural park of Aiguamolls de l'Empordà, you will pass through some observatories where you will can see migratory birds (in spring and autumn). You will pass by the medieval village of Castelló d'Empuries, where you can visit the XVII century church, known as the «Empordà Cathedral». In the hotel you will find your luggage. The land is flat so it will be a long but nice walk. Dinner included. Stay in 3* hotel. Day 3: Roses – Roses 12 km/ 3 hours After breakfast, you will know the area of the ancient city of Roses in a round tour passing by prehistoric rests such as the Dolmen de la Creu in Cobertella, Menhir of the burned house. You will enjoy the impressive views over the Roses Bay in one side, the Empordà flat fields on the other and the Pyrenees Mountains on the third side. It is really impressive. Distance of 12 km. Time: minimum of 3 hours. Dinner and stay in 3* hotel. Day 4: Roses – Cala Joncols (16 km/ 2 hours) After breakfast you can leave the luggage securely closed at the hotel reception and start walking along the GR92 until the impressive place of Cala Joncols with exceptional views over the Mediterranean sea and the coast. Stay in 3* hotel. Dinner included. Day 5: Cala Joncols – Cadaques (8 km/ 2 hours) After breakfast, you must leave your luggage closed in Reception and start the route walking along the GR92 until the charming village of Cadaqués. Dinner included.Accomodation in a 3* hotel. Day 6: Cadaques – Port de la Selva (11,5 km/ 3 hours) After breakfast you will leave Cadaqués and head to Port de la Selva village. Still in the « Creus cape » you will enjoy the wild coast « Costa Brava » and a general view over de Natural Park. This track is all nature. Distance of 11,5 km. Time 3hrs stay and dinner in a 3* hotel in Port de la Selva. Day 7: Port de la Selva – Llanca (11 km/ 4 hours) After breakfast leave the luggage at the hotel reception and walk along the GR11 path up to the port of Llançà. It is only a 8 km long track but you will go up 500 m to the Sant Pere de Roda Monastery, one of the most important examples of Romanesque architecture in Catalonia (10th Century). If there is good visibility the views over the Port de la Selva bay are magnificent. After visiting the monastery you will go down to Llançà village with magnificent views of the bay of Port de la Selva and the village of Llançà on the way. Stay in a 2* hotel. Dinner included. Day 8: Llanca After breakfast, check-out. Notes: - Level: Low-Medium 11-23 km per day with a max unevenness of 500m in a specific track. Most of the itinerary is indicated with red and white signs (GR92) and directional panels. - Recommended periods: All year, specially spring and summer. - Optional: * Private transfer from Girona Airport or town to the agrotourism accommodation. * Ornithologist guide to visit the Natural Park Aiguamolls de l’Empordà. * Culture and wine cellar excursion * Return transfer from Llançà to Sant Pere Pescador in case of travelling by car. * Stay in Barcelona for extra nights.
