Adventure on Andalusian horseback alongside Garrotxa volcanic one of Europe’s largest volcano regions, explore the immense mountain ridge of St Julia del Mont with its´ breathtaking views, and visit the authentic villages of El Torn and El Sallent with their narrow winding streets and local architecture. Two unforgettable days in the heart of Catalonia.
2 days riding between 4 to 5 h per day covering 25 to 35km per day with an expert guide.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: The Welcome. Arrival and accommodation. At dinner the guide will go over the week’s program, you will be told about the special characteristics of our Andalusian trail horses. And after dinner you will be given an introduction to the weeks programme with an opportunity for a one to one conversation designed to find every rider their perfect horse. Finally you will discover how to play the ‘Champagne rules’ which is anyone found guilty of holding up the ride at any point having to buy a bottle of local cava for the group that evening, making for lively dinners!
Days 2-3: Trail ride. After meeting and tacking up your horse, you can enjoy two days of interesting and varied riding. The scenery is spectacular; beautiful mountains, winding paths and panoramic views. River flood plains are ideal for long canters and gallops and meadows are rich in scented herbs and wild flowers. We will stop in ideal spots to stop for a picnic and a siesta. The local villages are unspoilt and the narrow streets and architecture are a treat. Al so, this region is full of lovely old churches, castles and history: taste the rural Catalonia with the Pyrenees in the background. You can extend your weekend with a visit to Barcelona or Girona.
Day 4: A Goodbye Breakfast. Breakfast and hotel check out.
