After arrival in El Calafate, Argentina we will travel 220 km (136.7 miles) north, passing through the pampas and crossing rivers that will bring us to stunning Lake Viedma. Finally, we will arrive at the small town of El Chalten, a cosy place that has become famous for being the capital of trekking in Argentina and even more famous for Mount Fitz Roy.
The first 4 days of the excursion we will explore the most attractive footpaths of the area. The weather conditions will determine our destination each day, so that we can have the best view of each location. Tour Dates: - October: 6 - 12 & 20 - 26 - November: 3 - 9 & 17 - 23 - December: 1 - 7 & 15 - 21 - January: 4 - 11 & 19 - 25 - February: 2 - 8 & 16 - 22 - March: 2 - 8 & 16 - 22. Tour Itinerary: Day 1: Arrival in El Calafate. Arrive at the airport in El Calafate, we will visit the city, rest and have lunch. Later we will leave heading towards to El Chalten. After arriving in El Chalten we will have dinner and spend the night. Includes: (L), (D). Day 2: We will walk from our hotel to a path that borders Fitz Roy River. The path leads us along plains, valleys and slightly uneven walkways, traveling through forests of Lengas we will finally reach the moraine where we find the Lagoon Torre and an impressive view of Cerro Torre. After this we will return to El Chalten on the same path, have dinner and stay the night in a hotel. Includes: (B), (L), (D). Day 3: Today we will explore the Fitz Roy Lookout. We will leave the hotel a Fitz Roynd cross the town to enter the southern entrance of the park. We will take the path that leads us towards the Chalten lookout, better known as Fitz Roy, a mountain that has also given its name to the location. We will arrive at camp Piocenot to rest and continue onto a very uneven path taking us to the Laguna de Los Tres lookout, the lookout of Fitz Roy Hill. We will return on the same path to town, have dinner, and stay the night in our hotel. Includes: (B), (L), (D). Day 4: La Ioma del Pliegue Tumbado Mountain will be our main destination today. On this mountain we will find part of the Fitz Roy River. This lookout offers some of the most beautiful panoramic views of the area, because from here you can see Cerro Fitz Roy, Cerro Torre and its valleys and glaciers. We will go to the different lookouts on the mountain (situated at 900/1000 meters in height) and try to arrive at the summit that is found around 1500 meters above sea level and 1100 meters above El Chalten. We will return to El Chalten to have dinner and spend the night in our hotel. Includes: (B), (L), (D). Day 5: This will be a day to rest and relaxation. We will take a wonderful boat ride on the Lake Viedma enjoying views of the Videma Glacier. In the afternoon we will head towards El Calafate and stay there for the night. Includes: (B), (L), (D). Day 6: Very early we will leave in vehicle towards Glacier Perito Moreno Lookout. Arriving at the lookout we will be able to orient ourselves in front of ice burgs that fall in front of the Southern Ice Field. Later we will return to the city, have dinner, and spend the night. Includes: (B), (L), (D). Day 7: Departure. We will take a transfer back to the airport, so that you can continue on with your journeys. End of the service. Notes: Price Includes:
