Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive in Lhasa. Our guide will pick you up from Gongga airport/Train station and then send you to Lhasa city. Rest in hotel. Overnight at Lhasa.
Day 2: Lhasa city sightseeing, Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor street
The first day of sightseeing starts from Lhasa's cardinal landmark- Potala Palace, a structure of massive portions. Its towering image is shown on all travel literature, but nothing can compare to your first sight of this incredible, amazing wonder of the world. It is absolutely awe-inspiring and you will be enchanted as you visit the rooms, halls and chapels of the palace. In the afternoon, we will visit the Jokhang Temple which is the spiritual center of Tibet. Everyday, pilgrims from every corner of Tibet trek here from long distances to worship. The temple is the product of Han, Tibetan and Nepalese architectural techniques. Finally we will visit Barkhor Street which is the oldest street in this very traditional Tibetan city. Meals: (B).
Day 3: Lhasa city sightseeing, Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery
About 8 km west of central Lhasa is the Drepung Monastery which was once the largest Monastery with over 10,000 monks. This day's sightseeing begins with these white monastic buildings piled up on the hillside. Walking up to the hill is a pleasant thing, an easy break from the solemn ambiance inside the halls and chapels. At the plat roof of the hillside, you will experience wonderful views of the whole of Lhasa city and the distant mountains.
Drepung is one of Lhasa's two great Gelugpa monasteries, the other is Sera. Around 5 km north of central Lhasa, Sera may not be as grandiose as Drepung, but is more serene surrounded by many small temples. The Buddhism Scriptures Debating in Sera is very famous. Accommodate in Lhasa Dongcuo International Youth Hostel. Meals: (B).
Day 4: Lhasa - Gandan Monastery - Dezong Hot Spring
Morning time, drive from Lhasa to visit Gandan Monastery, then drive to Dezong hot Spring. Overnight by Dezong Hot Spring. Dezong is a charming Tibetan village which locate in the valley about 140 km away from urban Lhasa. The architecture there is characterized by white color; amid the buildings, there is a temple with a golden roof, and the whistled trumpet shell could be heard all day long.
The hot spring pool is divided into two zones-male pool and female pool. Though a flaw on the wall separating the pool, nobody would peep for lust-people there are quite pure. Man and women bathing together with just a low stone wall between Bubbe bath and medical-worth are another two characters of Dezong Hot Spring. Meals: (B).
Day 5: Dezong Hot Spring - Lhasa
After a morning spa in Dezong hot spring, we drive back to Lhasa, visit famous Drigung til Monastery en route, which are highly recommended to visit together with Dezong Hot spring. Meals: (B).
Day 6: Leave Lhasa by train or by flight. Our guide will drop you off at Lhasa train station or airport, end this tour. Meals: (B).
