Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Chengdu - Lhasa
Morning time our staff pick you up from your hotel in Chengdu then dropping you off to Chengdu airport help you check in. After 2 hours flight you will arrive at Lhasa Gongga airport. Our guide will pick you up from Gongga airport and then send you to Lhasa city. Rest in the hotel. Overnight at Lhasa.
Day 2: Lhasa city tour sightseeing. Morning time to visit Potala Palace, then to visit Jokhang Temple, afternoon to visit Drepung Monastery, then to Sera Monastery. Overnight at Lhasa.
Day 3: Lhasa - Tsurphu Monastery - Namtso Lake
In the morning around 8:00 am, our guide and driver pick you up from your hotel, then we leave Lhasa to Namtso Lake. On the way you will see the huge grassland of Naqu and have a chance to see the sky road - Qinghai-Tibet Railway passing through it looks like a dragon. Then the Nyenchen Thanglha snow mountain ranges appeared in front of you, and also you will pass the Nagela Pass. Then on the way back to Lhasa you have a chance to enjoy the Yangpachen hot spring, back to Lhasa. Overnight at Namtso lake.
Day 4: Namtso lake - Drepung Monastery - Lhasa. Morning time to see the sunrise beside the holy lake, then back to Lhasa Drepung Monastery. Overnight at Lhasa.
Day 5: Lhasa - Tsedang - Samye Monastery - Sheldrak Cave (50 km, 2 hours driving, rough road). Today to visit Samya Monastery which is the first one built in the 7th century and has three buildings with different styled (Tibetan Hans and India). Camping at Sheldrake Cave.
Day 6: Sheldrake Cave. Sheldrak Cave is the preserve of hardy hikers and Tibetan pilgrims. It is a tough six hours climb to the west of Tsedang with an altitude gain of around 1000 meters. For Tibetans, Sheldrak is one of Tibet holiest pilgrimage destinations. Then Hiking up a small monastery. Camping at Sheldrake Cave.
Day 7: Sheldrake Cave - Yumbulakang - Trundruk monastery. Morning drive to Tsedang, located by Yarlung Valley, is the capital of Shannan Prefecture. It is reputed as "the cradle of Tibetan Civilization". In the afternoon to visit Yumbulakang Palace and Trundruk Monastery. Overnight at Tsedang.
Day 8: Zedang - Lhamolatso (115km). One of the most important pilgrimage destinations at northeast of Zedang. Camping at Lhamolatso.
Day 9: Lhamolatso - Zedang. It is 15 minute walk from the Shokde to the pass and another 1.5 hours to get down to the lake which is encircled by a Kora. Driving back from Lhamolatso to Zedang. Overnight at Zedang.
Day 10: Zedang - Yamdrotso lake - Gyangtse - Shigatse
Morning time around 8:00 am depart from Lhasa pass Gangbala Mt. which is over than 5000 meters, then to Yamdrotso lake which is one of the three holy lakes in Tibet (another 2 is Namtso lake and Manasarova), then back to Friend-ship highway pass by Shigatse to Gyangtse, visit Gyangtse Kumbum, far view of Zongshan ruins. Then back to Shigatse. Overnight at Shigatse.
Day 11: Shigatse - Lhatse. Shigatse to visit Tashilunpo Monastery, afternoon drive to Sakya, to visit Sakya Monastery (240 km, 5hours). Overnight at Lhatse.
Day 12: Drive from Lhatse to Saga (300 km, 9 hours, 4450 m). Overnight at Saga (Guest House, dorm bed).
Day 13: Driving from Saga to Paryang through the windswept territory passing many villages and camps of Yak herders with the distant view of snow capped mountains (250 km, 7-8 hours, 4600 meters). Overnight at Paryang (Guest House, dorm bed).
Day 14: Drive from Paryang to Lake Manasarovar through open territory with a view of distant mountains, Yak herders camp, if you are lucky enough you might come across a herd of Kang, you will have the first sight of Holy Kailash and Manasarovar. Overnight at the village Hore or Chiu Monastery (Guest house, dorm bed).
Day 15: Rest and sightseeing at Lake Manasarovar. Overnight at the village Hore or Chiu Monastery ( Guest house, dorm bed).
Day 16: Drive from Lake Manasarovar to Darchen (60 km, 2 hours, 4560 meters), preparing for trekking. Overnight at Kailash Hotel.
Day 17: Trek from Darchen to Dira-puk Monastery, 20 km, takes about 5 - 6 hours. The first day parikarama is a gradual walk with multitudes of other local pilgrims chanting and praying. The trail leads to few ups and downs till we reach our camp at Dirapuk (4,750 m). Camping on the nice grassy meadows with a view of Kailash, north west face at Dirapuk for overnight at halt.
Day 18: Trek from Dira-puk Monastery to Zutul-puk Monastery by crossing Drolma-la Pass, 15 km, it will take about 6 - 7 hours. Today our parikarama leads to much higher side of the holy path just beneath the Mount Kailash. The walk will bring us to one of the highest point at Drolma La, 5,200 meters. Before descending to the gradual field towards Zuthulphuk for the overnight camp. Zuthulphuk has a small monastery.
Day 19: Trek back to Darchen, 14km, 4- 5 hours. The winding gradual tracks finally ends our holy pilgrimage 5 hours. Overnight at Darchen.
Day 20: Drive from Darchen to Paryang (4550 m, 340 km, 9hours). Overnight at Paryang (Guesthouse, dorm bed).
Day 21: Drive from Paryang to Saga (252 km, 7-8 hours). Overnight at Saga (Guesthouse, dorm bed).
Day 22: Drive from Saga to Lhatse (300 km, 9 hours ). Overnight at Lhatse.
Day 23: Drive from Lhatse to Lhasa (450km, 7hours). Overnight at Lhasa.
Day 24: Lhasa - Ganden Monastery - Dezhong Hot spring. Overnight at dorm bed.
Day 25: Tindrum Nunnery - Lhasa. Overnight at Lhasa.
Day 26: Lhasa airport dropping off.
