The Ngorongoro crater also offers amazing wildlife viewing and scenery

Next day spent in the Parks in search of game, with morning and afternoon game drives. With meals and overnight at the same lodge.

The reserves have numerous permanent springs and a wealth of wildlife which includes leopard, hippo, elephant, lion, reticulated giraffe, grevy’s zebra and crocodile in the Ewaso Nyiro River. Over 365 species of birds have been identified in the sanctuaries.

Day 4: Aberdares National Park

The lodge overlooks a waterhole and comprises three decks from which numerous balconies and lounges provide superb vantage points for game viewing. Dinner and overnight at Tree Tops Lodge.

The Aberdares ranges lie at an altitude of 2,134 to 4,268 meters. It is home to the first tree hotel in Africa and harbors significant memories in world history. In 1952, Queen Elizabeth II learnt of her accession to the British throne while she was a guest at Treetops lodge following the death of her father, King George II Lake Nakuru National Park. Depart the lodge soon after breakfast and drive to Lake Nakuru National park. Lunch at a lodge followed by a full afternoon game drives at the Kenya's Park famed by its numerous species of birdlife.

Lake Nakuru's claim to fame is anchored on its flamingo's and the over 400 species of birds found here. The lake itself is a soda lake on the floor of the rift valley. The sight of the at times millions of flamingos is quite spectacular. From a distance the lake appears ringed in pink. The Lake has also earned a reputation as an important haven for endangered species- particularly the Rothschild Giraffe and the black and white rhino. Lions, waterbuck, buffalo and baboons are all residents here.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru-Masai Mara NR

After breakfast, drive to the Masai Mara National Reserve offering wonderful scenery and plenty of game. It is perhaps the only region left in Kenya where the visitor may see animals in the same super-abundance as existed a century ago. Game drive enroute to the lodge for lunch with an evening game drive. The Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to believe: over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. You will easily see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopard, many kinds of antelopes and elephant. It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savanna- lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena and vultures. Dinner and overnight at Mara Serena Lodge.

Day 6-8: Masai Mara National Reserve.

Next 2 days spent exploring the park in search of the big 5- Optional balloon safari can be arranged at an extra cost of US$ 425 per person. Dinner and overnight at the Mara Serena Lodge. The Annual wildebeest Migration takes place from the month of July through to September of each year.

Day 9: Masai Mara-Serengeti National Park

We leave the lodge and drive through the southern part of the reserve viewing game as we proceed to the Tanzanian border at Isebania / Sirari. Proceed to the lodge with game drive enroute. Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Serena Lodge.

Day 10: Serengeti National Park

Full day spent exploring the park. Morning and afternoon game drives are offered. The Serengeti National Park is arguably the most impressive wildlife sanctuary in the world. During the months December through March the seemingly unending plains of the southern Serengeti and the Conservation Area are inhabited by enormous herds of wildebeest and zebra. The great herds graze on rain ripened grass. In the calving season (late January through mid March) the herds concentrate at the Ndutu and Salei plains (Southern Serengeti / Ngorongoro Conservation Area) attracting the attention of predators like lion, cheetah and hyena. Dinner and overnight stay at Serengeti Serena Lodge.

Day 11: Serengeti – Ngorongoro conservation area via Olduvai Gorge

Day spent exploring the park. Morning and afternoon game drives are offered. The Olduvai Gorge cuts through rock beds layered in time sequence from 2 million years ago to the present and it is here where humanoid bones have been found dating back to over 1.75 million years including a direct ancestor of modern man. Fossil foot prints (over three million years old) have also been found here and are the most ancient footprints yet discovered. There is an excellent site museum where you can explore the diggings with a guide and it is also a great place to view birds such as the purple grenadier, red and yellow barbet, speckle fronted weaver and slaty colored boubou. Later proceed to Ngorongoro for dinner and overnight stay at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge.

Day 12: Ngorongoro Crater

Early breakfast then descend into the crater for a full day crater tour. With pic nic lunch. It is frequently described as one of the wonders of the world, not only because of its geological magnificence, but also because it serves as an extraordinary natural sanctuary for some of Africa’s largest populations of large mammals. Ngorongoro and other freestanding mountains are volcanic in origin, formed during the fracturing process that created the Rift valley 15 to 20 million years ago. When it peaked in size 3 million years ago it was a similar height to Mt. Kilimanjaro today. Dinner and overnight stay at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge.

Day 13: Ngorongoro - Lake Manyara

Breakfast at your lodge, then drive to Lake Manyara National Park, one of the Rift Valley's numerous alkaline lakes, which apart from its abundant bird life, is known for its tree-climbing lions. Arrive for lunch at your lodge followed by an afternoon game drive until sunset. Lake Manyara is a shallow, alkaline lake that is part of the Rift Valley wall; the lake is at the base of this dramatic western escarpment giving it a beautiful and serene setting. In addition to this peaceful setting, Lake Manyara’s main attractions are its rich bird life, tree climbing lions and its hippos, which you can see at a closer range than many other places. Lake Manyara also hosts thousands of flamingos at certain times of the year and has diverse vegetation ranging from savannah, to marshes and acacia woodland, enabling a variety of wildlife habitats including butterflies. Dinner and overnight at Manyara Serena lodge.

Day 14: Lake Manyara - Arusha - Nairobi

After breakfast with game drive enroute, drive to Arusha town to board your afternoon shuttle bus back to Nairobi with a drop at the Nairobi Serena Hotel for your overnight stay on Bed and Breakfast, where your tour ends.
