Your Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to hotel by the our staff. Overnight in Addis Ababa. Day 2: Drive Addis-Dessie. Overnight in Dessie. Day 3: Drive Dessie-Mekelle. On the way visit the Hayq Stefanos Island Monastery. Overnight in Mekelle. Day 4: Drive from Mekelle to Danakil Depression (one of the lowest point of the earth). Overnight camping. Day 5: Start driving to the Erta-Ale active volcano site in the evening, rest on the way and arrive at Erta-Ale next morning. Day 6: Spend the whole day at Erta-Ale (sometimes it is called “The Fire Sea”) and enjoy the marvelous view of active volcano eruption. Overnight camping. Day 7: Drive back to Danakil Depression and overnight in camp. Day 8: Full day stay in Danakil Depression and visit the Salt Lake of Afdera. Overnight camping. Day 9: Drive back to Mekelle. Overnight in Mekelle. Day 10: Transfer to the airport and fly back to Addis Ababa for departure back home. Notes:
