Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Nairobi

You will be met on arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and transferred to Fairview Hotel. Nairobi, city, capital of Kenya, in Nairobi District, situated at an elevation of about 1660 m (about 5450 ft) in the highlands of the southern part of the country. Nairobi is Kenya's principal economic, administrative, and cultural center and is one of the largest and fastest growing cities in Africa. The city also has a large tourist industry. Overnight at Fairview Hotel. Dinner at leisure not included in the tour price.

Day 2: Nairobi-Moshi

You will be picked from your hotel after your morning breakfast and transferred to the scheduled bus terminal which departs at 0800 HRS to arrive Moshi by 1530 HRS. You will go via the Namanga border and this will include border crossing formalities which will take only a few minutes then transferred to Moshi via the Arusha town. You will be transferred to Ameg Hotel for your late lunch. Full board accommodation included in the tour price. Dinner and overnight at Ameg Hotel.

Day 3: Moshi-Machame Gate (9,300’)

Hike time: 7.5 hrs
Elevation change: +1200 M
Estimated distance: 10km
Final elevation: 3100 M.

Early pick-up at Hotel and drive to Machame gate (5,400’) where trekking formalities take about 30 minutes. From the gate, we begin our trek following an easy track for the first hour through the dense forest. The path continues to follow the ridge, rising steadily with several steep sections. The gradient eases slightly as the forest merges into heather covered ground we will reach Machame Hut in 10 km (6.2 miles) after a 1,200 m (3,936’) ascent and 5-7 hours of walking.

Day 4: Machame Gate-Shira Hut (12,300’)

Hike time: 7 hrs
Elevation change: +800 M
Estimated distance: 6km
Final elevation: 3800 M

From the Machame Hut we cross the stream onto its west bank and follow the path up the steep rocky ridge crises-crossing a few times before reaching Shira Hut at the base of a semi-circular wall of rocks. We will have ascended 900 meters (3,000’) in 5-7 hours and about 6 km (3.72 miles) of walking.

Day 5: Shira Hut to Barranco Hut (12,800’)

Hike time: 5 hrs
Elevation change: +100 M
Final elevation: 3900 M

From Shira Hut hike to Lava Tower (15,000’) and then proceed to Barranco via the Great Barranco Wall. This route offers panoramic views of Kibo through Karanga Valley as we hike high and sleep low, dropping back down to Barranco after lunch. Today’s hike will take most of the day Barranco campsite located on elevation of 3950m.

Day 6: Barranco Hut to Karanga Valley (14,800’)

Hike time: 3.5 hrs
Elevation change: +100 M
Estimated distance: 4 km
Maximum elevation: 4590 m
Final elevation: 4000 m

From Barranco Hut we climb up through the edge of great Barranco 95percentage of that day walking will be on elevation of 4250 m. We will break our day at Karanga valley campsite at elevation of 4,000 m walking time is 4 to 5 hrs on this day.

Day 7: Karanga Valley to Barafu Hut (4,600 m)

Hike time: 3.5 hrs
Elevation change: +600 M
Estimated distance: 4 km
Final elevation: 4600 m.

Today involves gaining a little more elevation, acclimatizing and resting for the summit attempt the next morning. This day will take us 4 to 6 hrs of walking. Summit day! Summit time: 7 hrs, Elevation change: +1300 M, Estimated distance: 5 km, Final elevation: 5895 m. Descent time: 5 hrs, Elevation change: -2800M, Estimated distance: 12 km. Final elevation: 3100 m. We will start trekking early before sunrise (1-2 am) as the walk today will take 10-14 + hours. We will avoid the mist that sets in later in the day; the scree and snow will still be safely frozen. The 1,100-meter (3,600’) ascent in just over 3 km (1.86 miles) will take us about 6-8 hours. After a brief stay at the summit of the highest point in Africa, Uhuru Peak, at over 5,898 m (19,340'), we descend via the Barafu Route roughly 2,500 m (8,200’) in 12 km (7.44 miles) in about 4-7 hours to Mweka Camp.

Day 8: Mweka Hut to Mweka Gate (6,000’)- Lake Manyara National Park

Descent time: 4 hrs
Elevation change: 1250M
Estimated distance: 10 km
Final elevation: 1828 M.

Today we descend about 1400 meters (4,592’) through the forest on a jungle path for about 10 km (6.2 miles) in 3-4 hours to reach Mweka Gate. You will be met at the base of the mountain by your private safari guide and 4 x 4 land cruiser for Lake Manyara National Park. Located beneath the cliffs of the Manyara Escarpment, on the edge of the Rift Valley, Lake Manyara National Park offers varied ecosystems, incredible bird life, and breathtaking views.

Located on the way to Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti, Lake Manyara National Park is well worth a stop in its own right. Its ground water forests, bush plains, baobob strewn cliffs, and algae-streaked hot springs offer incredible ecological variety in a small area, rich in wildlife and incredible numbers of birds. Enjoy your evening game drive at Lake Manyara National Park. Full board accommodation is included in the tour price. Dinner overnight at Kiboko Tented Lodge.

Day 9: Lake Manyara-Serengeti National Park

Enjoy your early morning game drive at Lake Manyara National Park then transfer by your private well equipped safari jeep for Serengeti National Park. Serengeti is easily Tanzania’s most famous national park, and it’s also the largest, at 14,763 square kilometers of protected area that borders Kenya’s Masai Mara Game Park. Its far-reaching plains of endless grass, tinged with the twisted shadows of acacia trees, have made it the quintessential image of a wild and untarnished Africa. Its large stone kopjes are home to rich ecosystems, and the sheer magnitude and scale of life that the plains support is staggering. Full board accommodation is included in the tour price. Dinner and overnight at Ikoma Safari Camp.

Day 10: Serengeti

Full day of game viewing at Serengeti National Park with your private safari land cruiser and safari guide. Full board accommodation is included in the tour price. (Optional balloon safari can be arranged at an additional rate of USD. 499 Per person not included in the tour price) Dinner and overnight at Ikoma Safari Camp.

Day 11: Serengeti-Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Depart after your morning breakfast for Ngorongoro Conservation Area via the Olduvai gorge. Olduvai Gorge is one of the most important prehistoric sites in the world and has been instrumental in furthering understanding of early human evolution. Excavation work there was pioneered by Louis and Mary Leakey in the 1950s. There after transferred to Crater Forest Luxurious Tented Camp. Full board accommodation is included in the tour price. Dinner and overnight at Rhino Lodge.

Day 12: Ngorongoro Conservation Area-Arusha

Depart after your morning breakfast with your picnic lunch boxes for your half day of game viewing. You will descend to the rim of the crater with your private jeep and guide for half day. There after transferred to the picnic site for your lunch. You will be transferred after lunch for Arusha to arrive in the evening. Overnight at Ilboru Lodge. Dinner at leisure not included in the tour price.

Day 13: Arusha-Dar es salaam-Zanzibar

After your morning breakfast, you will be transferred to the bus terminal for Dar es salaam which will take up to at least 7-8 hrs drive. You will be met on arrival by one of our representative and transferred to Dar es salaam harbour for your Zanzibar speed boat which will take at least 2 hrs. Zanzibar is still the best-kept secret in the Indian Ocean, with its fascinating historical Stone Town and magnificent beaches. You will be met on arrival and transferred to your Imani Beach Villa. Dinner at leisure included in the tour price.

Day 14: Zanzibar

You will be transferred after your morning breakfast by our Zanzibar representative to the North East Coast of Zanzibar. For many years, Zanzibar's cloves, nutmeg pepper and many other spices brought the sultans of Oman across the Indian Ocean by dhow on the seasonal trade winds. The spice tour introduces you to most of Zanzibar's spices and fruits, (depending with the season) and if you are lucky. The exotic spices and fruits are grown in the plantations just outside of Stone Town and there's ample opportunity to dazzle the senses as you taste and smell them and guess what they are. There after you will be transferred to Imani Beach Villa. Breakfast and Dinner included in the tour price.

Day 15: Zanzibar. At leisure on the beach. Dinner and overnight at Imani Beach Villa.

Day 16: Zanzibar North East Coast. At leisure on the beach. Dinner and overnight at Imani Beach Villa.

Day 17: Zanzibar-Nairobi. You will be transferred after your morning breakfast for Kisauni Airport for your fly 540 flight which departs at 1330 HRS to arrive Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at 1545 HRS to connect with your inbound flight back home.
