Your Itinerary:
Day 1: Buenos Aires. Airport reception and transfer to your hotel. Overnight accommodations at the Hotel Claridge. Located steps away from the theater and shopping districts, the Hotel Claridge offers rooms with cable TV, mini bars, international direct-dial telephones and laundry service.
Day 2: Buenos Aires-Mendoza. Transfer to the national airport for your flight to Mendoza. Upon arrival in Mendoza, you’ll be met by our local guide. After a final expedition equipment check, you’ll set off through the mountains to Puente del Inca Hostel, located at 8500 feet above sea level. En route stop for lunch, and arrive at the lodge in the late afternoon. The rest of the day will be spent acclimating to the altitude, and preparing for the upcoming adventure. Day 3: Confluencia. Today the trek begins. Surrounded by huge snow-capped peaks on all sides, you'll slowly ascend to the Confluencia base camp, located at 10,560 feet, where you will settle your camp. The rest of the day may be spent hiking around the camp and marveling at the panoramic views of the Horcones Superior and Horcones Inferior, which meet way below. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 4: Confluencia. The Horcones glacier will come into view. Suddenly you'll come to the impressive south wall of Aconcagua - a 10,000 foot wall of vertical rock! As you marvel at the wall, you'll also see huge hanging glaciers and avalanches tumbling down the mountain. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 5: Puente Del Inca. You'll set off early this morning for your return journey. The pace will be moderate as you work your way back to Horcones Lake, located a the foot of Aconcagua. Lunch will be served at this marvelous place, and you'll continue to Puente del Inca for dinner. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 6: Mendoza. On the final return trip to Mendoza, you'll stop at the Mendoza River for a morning white-water rafting session. Overnight at a local hotel. Dinner is on your own tonight. Includes: (B), (L).
Day 7: Mendoza-Int'l Departure. Transfer to the Mendoza airport for your flight to Buenos Aires. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to the international airport for your departing flight. Includes: (B).
