Day 2: From Jaca to Berdun (30 km, 6.5 h). From the "Pirineo Aragones", the Aragonese Pyrenees, the Camino follows the river Aragon westwards, on generally flat terrain. This beautiful part of the valley called "corridor of the canal de Berdun", is covered in cereal fields but with very few trees. To the south of the Camino you will see two minor mountain chains: Pena Orel and Sierra de St. Juan de la Pena. Town: Internet, ATM, shops. Accommodation: 1* hotel, en-suite. Meal: Half board.
Day 3: From Berdun to Leyre (30 km, 6.5 h). The Camino continues along the river Aragon, towards the controversial Yesa Dam, and the lonely landscape is predominantly agricultural until you reach Tiermas. You will then be in sight of the woodlands of the Sierra de Pena Musera. Town: 1 restaurant at monastery. Accommodation: 17th Century monastery in the hamlet of Leyre, en-suite. Meal: Half board.
Day 4: From Leyre to Sanguesa (15 km, 3.5 h). This part of the Camino continues along the Yesa reservoir, at the foothills of the Sierra de Pena Musera. Then, taking a small countryside road, we pass the fabulous "Castillo Javier", built in the 14th Century. This castle is famous because St. Francis Xavier was born here in 1506. Town: Internet, ATM, shops, all facilities. Accommodation: 2* hotel, en-suite. Meal: Half board.
Day 5: From Sanguesa to Monreal (26 km, 6 h). Today, you will have a choice between two Caminos. Both options offer beautiful views. The other Camino keeps close to the road and its main attraction is the incredible gorge of "Foz de Lumbier". Town: Internet, ATM, shops. Accommodation: 2* hotel, en-suite. Meal: Half board.
Day 6: From Monreal to Puente de la Reina (31 km, 7 h).
