Your Itinerary:

Day 1: Coming to Mallorca. After your flight to Palma, you will be pre-booked in a refuge in the picturesque village of Pollenca. This refuge was completed in November 2007, and offers modern facilities, comfortable shared rooms and good food. Town: Food shop, ATM, Internet. Refuge: very spacious and comfortable shared rooms with hot water, as well as a peaceful garden with views of the river. Includes: (D).

Day 2: From Pollenca to Lluc (4.5 h, 13 km)

From orchards to mountains. From the refuge, we take a path along the "Routa de Pedras" an old stone road. During the first 2 hours we cross orchards with stocked with oranges, olives and figs. Then, entering the woods, the trail climbs up to a pass with an unique view of the Pollenca peninsulas. Finally, sloping down gently to the Plateau of Saint Lluc, we cross meadows and their inhabitants: sheep and black goats. Town: Lluc, shop open every day except Mondays. Accommodation: Shared rooms in a brand new refuge. Great views of Mt. Tomir, Mt. Massanella and the Pollenca valley. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 3: Lluc to Tossal Verde (5 h, 14 km)

Today, under looming Mt. Massanella, we start climbing up through the woods where you will see ruins of an old village, old bread ovens and many Sitja (circle use by people to burn charcoal). After climbing constantly for 2 hours into the woods, we arrive on a small platform with fantastic views over the southern coast of the Island. Coming down into a forest of conifers and pasture in narrow valleys, we reach our refuge tonight. Note: At the refuge, the keeper grows vegetables, and has couple donkeys; go to the back of the house and explore this small farm. Town: No village just the refuge-accessible only by foot! The views are fabulous and the feeling of remoteness is fantastic. Accommodation: Shared rooms in a refuge. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 4: Tossal Verde to Port Soller (6 h, 20 km)

Cuber, heart of the Tramuntana. From the Cuber lake where the Puig major reflects we make our way through the mountains, going down through a narrow gorge on a cobbled path. The gorge is covered with terraced fields, similar to those of Nepal. Then from Soller we take the wooden train (€ 3, not included) to the cove of the sea port village of "Puerto Soller". Options: Puig Ofre, Mirador. Town: Sea side, beaches, ATM, food shop, Internet. Accommodation: Shared rooms in a refuge. Close to the light house at 100 m, you will get the best views on the coast and the Tramuntana range behind. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 5: Port Soller to Deia (3.5 h, 14 km; 3 h 15 m, 14 km)

Calla de Deia. From the refuge we follow well-marked trails across the peninsula. Here the landscape is bare and wild, like Ireland's Connemara. After 30 minutes we pass olive groves, and the coast of Deia suddenly appears, its cliffs looming above the craggy coast and the azure waters of the coves. Following a balcony path we come to the valley of Deia and the church above us on a solitary hill under the cliffs. Town: Lovely village set in an "inaccessible" valley, ATM, shops. Accommodation: Shared rooms in a new refuge in the center of town. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 6: Deia to Vallehermossa (3 h 45 m, 15 km)

Mirador de Ses Puntes. Today, we tackle the famous "Archduke Path" said to be the most beautiful footpath on the island. From the refuge, we climb steadily into a forest with various Sitjas and ruined huts. Then, facing the cliffs, we take a trail hugging the cliff to the Archduke path. This seems scary but in fact the footpath is wide enough and never very steep. From the top we follow the cliff for about an hour, with great views of the coast, the peninsulas, the village just below and the Tramuntana range (here you are 500 m above the sea). On the way down you will have the chance to explore Vallehermossa, a splendid village with plenty of shops and restaurants, which was the hometown of Chopin. Then return by bus to Deia (€ 1.5 not included). Town: Lovely village set in an "inaccessible" valley, ATM, shops Accommodation: Shared rooms in a new refuge in the center of town. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 7: End of our trip. After breakfast we bid you farewell. But you can still take your time and admire the beautiful cathedral of Vallehermossa or visit the vibrant city of Palma. Includes: (B).
