You can then visit Jabrin which has possibly the finest castle built in Oman – that was once also used as a University. You can also explore the ruins of the old Tanuf village alongside the newly constructed dam. This trip truly is an educational by itself. You will surely fell much more enriched after the historical vacation.

Magnificent Hajar Mountains via Fanja, Sumail and Izki, at the old town and pretty village of Birkat Al Mauz, is situated at the foothills of Jebel Akhdar "Green Mountain". Enjoy a walk through its oasis and dense date plantations. From here you continue your tour to the township of Nizwa, the ancient capital of Oman. Nizwa clusters around its historical buildings, traditional Souk and the imposing circular-towered fort built during the mid 17th century by Imam Sultan bin Saif Al Yar’ubi. The town has a lush palm oasis stretching for 8 km along two wadis. Water canals run through all parts of Nizwa area. The most important one is Falaj Daris, formed by two streams, which irrigates a large part of the town. At the Souk, built in traditional style, you will find exquisite silver jewelery, intricately hand-made "Khanjar", copper, weaving and other handicrafts.

Bahla with its rich tradition of pottery and weaving. Bahla is a delightful town having retained its traditional characteristics and is surrounded by a 12 km long protective wall, much of which still stands. You visit the famous Pottery Centre and Bahla Fort, one of the oldest in Oman, built in the late 17th century (UNESCO Heritage Site) on much earlier Persian foundations. You will then visit Jabrin Fort, built in the late 17th century and originally designed as a residence. It displays the highest achievement in Omani ceiling painting and beautifully executed woodcarvings.
