Day 1: To Marseille. You will be pre-booked in a 2* hotel in the heart of the town. Marseille is very cosmopolitan with bags of character. We recommend that take a stroll on "Le Vieux Port", the old harbor, experience the Moroccan Zouks (market), walk the Corniche JF Kennedy above the town for its wonderful views, visit the Basilique Notre Dame, and finally drop into La Maison du Pastis for a tasting of the local firewater. Town: ATM, shops. Accommodation: a charming 2* hotel in the center of the town, en suite.
Day 2: Cassis, circular walk (5 h, 12 km, +/-300 m). In the morning, a short bus ride (20 minutes) brings you to Cassis, a quaint harbor town where you will spend the next 2 nights. You will start your walk in the direction of "Port-Miou", a harbor in a small white creek, and uphill to "vallon d’En-Vau" following a century-old mule trail, where you may catch a glimpse of eagles. After that you will follow the coast to the vallon de la Gardiole, through a forest of small trees. Then it's back to Cassis by the famous GR93 (a well-known long-distance trail), through Garigue's provincial bushy lands and passing Mussuguières Plateau, and its marvelous views. Town: Cassis. Accommodation: 2* hotel in the old part of the town, just a few meters from the harbor and the beach. Includes: (B).
Day 3: Cassis, circular walk (6 h, +/-603 m). Today you will take a boat transfer (not included) to the famous Calanques of Morgious; a hidden creek, barely accessible by car. At first you will follow the coast to a remote creek the "Calanques de Sugiton", only accessible by boat or by foot. Then the balcony trail brings you to the "Col de la Candelle" (628 m). Here we follow the ridge of Devenson's cliff to the "Calanque d'En-Vau". You will return to Cassis mid-afternoon by boat (not included). Town: Same as yesterday. Accommodation: Same as yesterday. Includes: (B).
Day 4: Cassis, end of the trip. After breakfast, we bid you farewell. Includes: (B).
