Your Itinerary:
Day 1: Depart by Land-Rover to Selous Game Reserve. Arrive in the afternoon at Rufiji River Camp which is located on the river just inside the Reserve on the eastern approach overlooking the Rufiji River. This is the oldest of the Selous Camps and was originally a hunting Camp. In the afternoon have a boat safari.
Day 2: Full day game view drive by open roof cars. Selous is Africa’s largest wildlife sanctuary; here you find some of the finest virgins bush in Africa. The animals are still wild, reacting strongly to the sight of humans, unlike their tourist-accustomed counterparts in Tanzania’s northern parks. Dinner and overnight at Rufiji River Campsite.
Day 3: After breakfast boat ride along the mighty Rufiji River, those who experience this safari can verify the fact that this mighty river boasts African’s highest concentration of Hippopotamus. Lunch will be at the Camp. Afternoon we take a walking safari. This safari allows an intimate impression of the African bush and wildlife, which is unforgettable. Dinner and overnight will be at the Camp.
Day 4: After breakfast, have a morning game drive. Lunch will be at the Camp, in the afternoon have a boat safari, dinner and overnight at the Camp.
Day 5: After breakfast, drive to Mikumi Wildlife Lodge – a safari lodge of modern design. It curves around a spur above a waterhole where animals usually go to quench their thirst. Dinner and overnight at Mikumi Wildlife Lodge.
Day 6: Breakfast at Mikumi Wildlife Lodge. Afterwards depart for Ruaha with a stop in Iringa for lunch. Late in the afternoon game drive in Ruaha National Park, dinner and overnight at Ruaha River Camp.
Day 7: Full day game drive in Ruaha National Park, Ruaha is one of the unexplored Parks in Tanzania with the largest elephant sanctuary. The name Ruaha derives from the Great Ruaha River which flows along it’s entire eastern border creating spectacular gorges and scenery.
Day 8: After breakfast, a short game drive in Ruaha National Park. Depart for Mikumi via Iringa for lunch, dinner and overnight at Mikumi Wildlife Lodge.
Day 9: After breakfast, have a game drive in Mikumi National Park, which is rich in wildlife and contains Buffalo, Elephant, Lion and Leopard. You can also find Wildebeest, Zebra, Impala, Warthog, Hippo and Giraffe. Then depart for Dar-es-Salaam after lunch, where you arrive by evening.
