This journey takes us to Bodhgaya to attend and listen to the Dalai Lama's annual teachings. His Holiness will give five-day teachings on Tsongkhapa’s Short Version of the Stages of the Path To Enlightenment (lamrim dhuedhon), Longchen Rinpoche’s Mind In Comfort and Ease (semnyid nyelso) & Atisha’s Lamp of the Path to Enlightenment (jangchup lamdron) from January 5 to 9. On the sixth day, the morning of January 10 His Holiness will confer a Long Life Empowerment (tsewang) and a long life offering will be offered to His Holiness.

We will spend 7 days together, attending teachings, keeping a mindfulness practice, having discussions and visiting temples of different Buddhist countries. We will hear teachings by Shantum Seth at the holy sites associated with the Buddha which include the Bodhi tree under which the Buddha attained enlightenment, Sujata's village, the Mahabodhi temple and the Dungasiri Caves. We will also take walks in the countryside, explore temples of different faiths, visit homes of local villagers, interact with other teachers, visit local schools and experience many magical moments that manifest in a pilgrimage like this in India. All this while living in the guest house of a Japanese temple, a calm environment that encourages reflection.
