Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrive in Accra, Ghana. Transfer from airport to your hotel. Welcome drink and orientation. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Accra. Lodging in 3 Star hotel. Includes: (D).


Day 2: Aburi Botanical Gardens

Depart after breakfast for a drive to Aburi Botanical Gardens. This eco-paradise was created in 1890 for pleasure and scientific research. It is a habitat for plants and butterflies from all around the world. After lunch, visit the wonderful Woodcarvers’ Village, a great place to pick up that special souvenir from your trip. Later, depart for Ho. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Ho. Lodging in 3 Star hotel. Includes: (B), (D).

Day 3: Tafi Atome

Early morning departure for Tafi Atome, a village that has practiced conservation as a culture by keeping their monkeys sacred. You will have the rare and exciting experience of witnessing these endangered animals in large numbers as they live in the wild. Continue on to Wli Waterfalls. Enjoy a hike through lush greenery of the Agumatsa Forest Reserve where you will cross the same river eleven times to reach the breathtaking falls. Enjoy a picnic lunch at the base of the falls. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Ho. Lodging at 3 Star hotel. Includes: (B), (D).

Day 4: Mt. Afadjato & Tagbo Falls

After an early breakfast at your hotel, depart for a drive to the foot of Afadjato mountain which is approximately 885m above sea level (2905ft). We shall climb to the highest peak in Ghana, without climbing gear. After descending from the peak, enjoy a walk through a secondary rain forest and have picnic lunch in a cool and invigorating environment at the base of the Tagbo Falls. After lunch, return to Ho. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Ho. Lodging in 3 Star hotel. Includes: (B), (D).

Day 5: Shai Hills Reserve

Check out and depart for the Shai Hills Reserve, which combines nature conservation, rich cultural interest and archaeological sites with splendid scenic beauty. Embark on a trek through the savannah plains to view West Africa’s big game: antelopes, bushbucks, kobs, baboons, monkeys and many bird species including the crested eagle ground hornbill blank bellied bustard and more. Visit the Obonu Tem and Se Yo caves that serve as home to the many animals notably insectivorous bats that you will be sure to see. You will have the opportunity to learn about the various artifacts that have been found on this very site, the homeland of the Krobo people. After lunch, continue the journey southwards to Accra. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Accra. Includes: (B), (D).

Day 6: Kumasi

After breakfast at your hotel, check out and depart for a drive through the forest zone to Kumasi, the seat of the Ashanti Empire to explore the legends of the famous Ashantis, whose legacies are still evident today. After lunch, visit Manhyia Palace Museum, to obtain firsthand information on the legacies of the Ashanti kingdom. A regal history that dates back to 1700 is told with relics and artifacts. Enjoy a drive through the city with monuments dedicated to the memory of the great Ashanti people. End the day’s tour at the National Cultural Center which features the Prempeh II Jubilee Museum and various studios of the brass makers, potters and batik makers. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Kumasi. Includes: (B), (D).

Day 7: Bobiri Forest Reserve

After breakfast depart for a visit to the Bobiri Forest Reserve to view the flower gardens designed to attract a variety of butterflies in the forest; enjoy a hike through the semi deciduous rain forest that shelters it. You will see and learn about the socio-economic and medicinal importance of these tropical trees as you hike through the forest. After lunch, depart for a drive to Elmina in the Central Region. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Elmina. Includes: (B), (D).

Day 8: Kakum National Park

After breakfast at hotel, depart for a drive through the historic Denkyira Kingdom to Kakum National Park, one of the West Africa’s surviving tropical rain forests. Choose between a 2 km nature walk through this forest to discover the wide variety of exotic floral species and the medicinal values they offer or take a walk on the canopy walkway hanging 30 meters (100ft) above the forest ground. Take your pleasurable lunch at Hans Cottage Botel while watching the resident crocodiles and busy weaver birds. After lunch, visit the Cape Coast Castle built by the Swedes in 1653 and was later taken over by the British. This castle also houses the West African Historical Museum. History will unfold the story of the slave trade which the impact is still felt beyond the shores of Africa today. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Elmina. Includes: (B), (D).

Day 9: Accra

Check out and depart for a drive along the coast to Accra. Check into your hotel and have lunch. After lunch, depart for a sightseeing tour of Accra. You will drive through the administrative and economic districts of Accra, Capital of Ghana. This 128-year-old city has a blend of colonial and modern architecture. You will visit the W. E. B. Dubois Center for Pan African Culture, Independence Square and Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Accra. Includes: (B), (D).

Day 10: Day at Leisure and last minute shopping, transfer to airport for check-in and final departure back home. Includes: (B).
