This tour takes you through the grand odyssey of this tropical island. Discover the splendid cultural heritage sites and the ancient temples, witness the dramatic landscapes and the spectacular countryside of the tea highlands, experience wildlife at the largest national park and towards the end of the tour recollect this memorable experience at a relaxing beach resort.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Depart UK. Board your flight to Colombo from London.
Day 2: Arrive Colombo and transfer to Giritale. On arrival at the international airport, assistance by our representative and transfer to the hotel.
Day 3: In Giritale. Take safari in Minneriya National Park. Optional elephant safari at Habarana. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 4: Giritale- Dambulla. Morning excursion to Polonnaruwa (a World Heritage Site).Overnight at the hotel.
Day 5: In Dambulla. Morning visit to Sigiriya rock fortress. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 6: In Dambulla: Excurison to Anuradhapura (a World Heritage Site) En route visit Aukana and town of Mihintale. Evening visit to Ritigala Mountain. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 7: Dambulla- Kandy. Drive to Kandy en route visit Dambulla Rock Cave Temple, Hindu temple at Matale, a batik factory and a spice garden. Evening visit the Temple of tooth, followed by cultural show. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 8: In Kandy. Visit to the Elephant Orphanage in Pinnawela and Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya. Evening free to explore Kandy. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 9: Kandy- Nuwara Eliya. Travel to Nuwara Eliya by train or car. Witness the spectacular countryside- the mountains covered with tea bushes and cascading waterfalls. In Nuwara Eliya, visit to a tea plantation and a tea factory. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 10: Nuwara Eliya- Yala. Visit to the Horton Plain. Later leave for Yala, enroute visit Rawana Ella Water Fall. Overnight at the hotel/lodge.
Day 11: In Yala. Safari in Yala National Park. Overnight at the hotrel/lodge.
Day 12: Yala- Tangalle. Morning visit to Kataragama temple. Later drive to Tangalle. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 13: In Tangalle. Day free at the beach.
Day 14: In Tangalle. Day free at the beach.
Day 15: Tangalle- Colombo. Drive to Colombo. Optional city tour of Colombo. Overnight at the hotel
Day 16: Depart Colombo. Transfer to airport for onward flight.
