Depart regal India and fly to Bhutan- popularly called the land of thunder dragon. Explore the pristine alpine valley of Paro; discover the capital city of Thimphu- a city still maintaining the local Burmese architectural character; marvel at the magnificent Dzong in Punakha. Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Depart UK. Fly to Delhi.
Day 2: Arrive Delhi. On arrival, we greet you and transfer to the award winning Imperial hotel. Remainder of the day at leisure.
Day 3: In Delhi. After a leisurely breakfast, explore the sights of Old and New Delhi. Evening at leisure.
Day 4: Delhi-Agra. In the morning, drive to Agra and check into the Oberoi Amar Vilas. Later visit to the Agra Fort and Itmad-ud-Daula.
Day 5: Agra-Jaipur. Early morning visit the ‘Taj Mahal’ at sunrise- a spectacular sight as the morning sunrays fall on the shimmering marble. Later drive to Jaipur enroute visiting the heritage city of Fatehpur Sikri. In Jaipur, stay at the Oberoi Raj Vilas or Taj Rambagh Palace.
Day 6: In Jaipur. Morning visit to the imposing Amber fort- ascending on the hill top fort on the elephant back. In the afternoon, sightseeing of the city.
Day 7: Jaipur-Delhi. Morning at leisure. In the afternoon, drive to Delhi and stay at the Imperial Hotel.
Day 8: Delhi-Paro. Fly to Paro and on arrival transfer to the Uma Paro hotel. Later visit to the National Museum and Paro Dzong. Evening at leisure.
Day 9: In Paro. In the morning, hike to Taktsang, "the Tiger's Lair". In the afternoon, drive to the capital city of Thimphu and check in at the Amankora Resort, Thimphu.
Day 10: In Thimphu. In the morning, explore the city including visit to the National Library, School of Traditional Arts, National Memorial Chorten, Textile Museum, Folk Heritage Museum and the Thimphu Dzong. Evening at leisure.
Day 11: Thimphu-Punakha. Morning drive to Punakha. In the afternoon visit the magnificent Punakha Dzong. After the Dzong, enjoy a short drive in the lush upper Punakha valley and a short hike to the beautiful chorten temple of Khamsum Yuley on a hill. Stay at Amankora Resort, Punakha.
Day 12: Punakha- Paro. Visit to the Chimme Lhakhang (temple of the divine mad man) near Punakha before driving back to Paro with a lunch stop in Thimphu. In Paro, overnight stay at Uma Paro.
Day 13: Paro-Kolkatta. Transfer to Paro airport in time to board flight to Kolkata. On arrival in Kolkatta, stay at the Oberoi Grand. In the evening, farewell dinner hosted by Indian Odyssey.
Day 14 :Depart Kolkatta: Transfer to the airport in time to board your return flight.
