The banks of the rivers are covered in thick forests, which gradually make way for bush and grassland. Dinner and Overnight at Basecamp Explorer Camp. The abundance of water and excellent availability of food are reasons why Masai Mara which is the continuation of the Serengeti eco-system, has the greatest population of wildlife in all Africa. There’s a particularly dramatic "spectacle" from July to October of each year, the annual wildebeests migration from the Serengeti towards the Mara in search of greener pastures crossing the Mara river as the crocodiles, hyenas and lions lay in wait for their "kill".
