On this tour you will experience the ancient and the modern in a city of strong contrasts revealing the vibrant spirit of Amman. During the program, we will visit the endless churches of Madaba known as the city of mosaics as well as visit Mount Nebo, the mountaintop memorial of Moses. To continue you will have the chance to get away from everyday life and escape to a place of complete harmony and soliture, the Dead Sea. Of course Petra is also on the agenda, an entire city carved in stone in the mountains of Wadi al Mujib over 2000 years ago. To finish off, you will experience the enigmatic desert structures which are scattered around the infinite Jordanian desert, taking you on a journey to the flourishing Islamic civilization of the Umayyad Dynasty.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival. Arrival at Queen Alia Airport. Our representative will meet the guests with a sign and will assist them through visa procedures – luggage identification – guests will meet their driver at the arrival hall and will be transferred to the hotel in Amman, Check in at hotel & overnight.
Day 2: Amman. Breakfast at the hotel, start the day with a city tour of Amman. This will include the visit of the citadel, Roman Theater, the archeological museum, King Abdullah Mosque, old & new Parts of Amman. Visit Darat Al Funun as well as Dar al anda. Back to the hotel in Amman & overnight.
Day 3: Madaba – Nebo – Dead Sea. Breakfast at the hotel, depart to visit the endless churches of Madaba known as the city of mosaics. The famous mosaic map flooring the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George, is the oldest map in the world depicting the Holy Land. Then continue to visit Mount Nebo, the mountaintop memorial of Moses with captivating views of the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and River Jordan. Drive to the lowest point on earth for free afternoon before driving back to Amman.
Day 4: Petra. Breakfast at the hotel, drive to the Rose Red city of Petra to start a full day visit. The visit will include the main sites such as the "Siq", a long winding fissure between two walls of overhanging cliffs, the "Khazneh" referred to as the Treasury, the Street of Facades, the Court House and the Amphitheater. If time permits; then we can also include visits to the High Place of Sacrifice and the Monastery. End the tour and drive back to the hotel in Amman & overnight.
Day 5: Desert Castle – Kan Zaman. Breakfast at hotel, drive to visit the Desert Castle, taking you on a journey to the flourishing Islamic civilization of the Umayyad Dynasty. A string of castles, caravanserai, fortresses and retreats adorn your desert trail and paint a mysterious, exotic picture of hunting life and recreation in those old times, those castles are Qasr Amra, Qasr Azraq and Qasr Al Kheraneh. On the way back drive to Kan Zaman for a typical Jordanian dinner.
Day 6: Departure. Transfer to Queen Alia Airport for departure with the assistance of our representative.
