Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival to San Salvador. Trasfer from the Comalapa International Airport to the city of San Salvador, about 39 Kms and 35 minutes away. Upon arrival, a representative of our company will welcome you (Night tour optional: visit the restaurants and night life area of San Salvador).
Day 2: Archeological Boquerón + Canopy
Visit the imposing Volcano of San Salvador, the crater known as Boquerón, enjoy a refreshing ecotouristic walk trough the nature and trails. Thengo to the Black Sea (an area covered by lava, now volcanic rock, thrown out by el Boquerón) and venture in a exciting journey through the coffee plantations, the flora and fauna of the volcano in a safe and fun Canopy Tour. Appreciate the magpie, the bird Torogoz, squirrels and other animals. Get amazed with the majestic pines, oaks and different varieties of trees. Later, transfer to the Pompeii of America, the archaeological site Joya de Cerén, World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1993. Joya de Cerén was covered by the explosion of the Loma Caldera volcano. This explosion allowed to keep the remains of the pre-Hispanic civilization for hundreds of years. Later visit the "Ruinas de San Andrés," free lunch in the city of Santa Ana and panoramic tour of the historic center of the city: the Gothic Cathedral of Santa Ana and the City Theater. Back to the city of San Salvador. Free evening to enjoy the surroundings. (Disco tour optional: visit the restaurants and night life area of Multiplaza, La Gran Via y Zona Rosa)
Day 3: Ilamatepec Volcano (Santa Ana’s Volcano)
Exciting adventure to the top of the Ilamatepec Volcano, a real scenic gem. It’s the highest and largest of the coastal mountain range. Reaches 2365 meters above sea level. The road is narrow and difficult to traverse. There are a number of resting points. As you reach upper altitudes, the winds are much stronger and you will be enveloped in clouds. Soon, you will arrive at the top. The crater has an emerald-green lagoon in its interior. There is also a small waterfall of crystalline water. From this point you will have an amazing view of the Coatepeque Lake, Izalco Volcano, the Cerro Verde Volcano and the Pacific Ocean. The view is just Impressive!
Day 4: Suchitoto In Kayak
After breakfast, transfer to the beautiful city of “Suchitoto”, meaning "Place of Birds and Flowers”, in Nahuatl. The city of Suchitoto offers the essence of the old colonial architecture. Visit its beautiful cobbled streets, art galleries, the Ruins’ Theater, the House of Crafts and the Santa Lucia Church, built in 1853, one of the main attractions of the city for its architecture and its historical significance. Then visit the Lake Suchitlán, a 135 square kms artificial lake with the largest area of water in the country. Back to San Salvador. Kayak Tour, visit the Island of the Birds trough the fauna and flora of the area. Return to San Salvador.
Day 5: Transfer to the Airport. Three hours before the flight departure, transfer to El Salvador International Airport Comalapa. It was a pleasure to serve you! We hope we have the opportunity to attend you again! Have a nice trip! End of our services.
