Morning pick up from your hotel and transfer to Daphne Sheldrick's Orphanage. Its situated 8 km from the city center, and set in the Nairobi National Park where the orphan elephants and rhinos are cared for. The Trust does not solicit funds and relies entirely on donations from our caring and compassionate friends. The orphanage is opened only one hour a day from 11:00 - 12:00. The orphanage gives you a rare opportunity to come close to baby elephant, the age range vary from a few months to 3 years, each orphaned elephant is assigned its own keeper, who acts as a replacement mother and will stay with the elephant until it is re-introduced into the wild.
The keeper as well gives a talk about the elephants, where they came from, how they are getting on, and how some of the previous orphans are progressing. The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust is a small flexible charity, established in memory of David Sheldricks famous Naturalist and founder Warden of Kenya's giant Tsavo East National Park in which he served from 1948 until 1976. After witnessing the feeding of these orphaned elephants and rhinos at around 11:00hrs, You will be transferred back to your hotel. Notes:
